As long as you're entertaining, can bring something new and is willing to improve you're already more likely to be accepted than 90% of the guys auditioning. Shoot for the literal stars my dude. So here's some advice from an old man. You have seven seconds to capture an audiences attention, however with auditions you have around 3-5 seconds and then 4-2 to seconds retain it. After that unless you flub the entire thing you will have their attention. For example, you if you can do conversational Japanese and translate Rakugo, introducing yourself and translate and localize a portion of the most basic one, Jugemu Jugemu (don't actually translate the name), for a minute properly will kill many birds with one stone.
1) You have a good comprehensions of japanese and can apply it streams to enhance it.
2) You can provide entertainment with something basic and you could potentionally bring something unique to hololive as a storyteller type vtuber. Not just voice acting but using live2d to it's fullest
3) Jugemu Jugemu
Live2D and Rakugo have a lot in common and the way of talking to an audience is good for this types of auditions

The issue is that it was clips and not actual content.
There are reason why people like DangerouslyFunny, Blitztopia, and ManlyBadassHero (and yes while its daily content now they weren't always) are successful enough with what they do. It might not bring CCV to streams but it brings eyes to the channel especially on off days. For example streaming thrice with 2 videos on off gives 5 days of content.
There is some actual tricks to make it work, though some are advance. The biggest one is finding shorter games (ones that you can make a 7-10 minute video on) that can lead to some decent commentary. Think games like the "RPG that got trimmed too much". Rougelit(k)e runs. The fun parts of Hydroneer builds.
