There is a difference between "hit" and "damage" in this game. Piki-Piman triggers on hit, so injection won't trigger it. Same goes for Sake, so it won't remove the Sake buff. It's a bit disappointing when you see the word spread and then you see what you get.
As an example, this is the base spread shot from DDP. It also comes with fun mechanics like point blanking to encourage riskier play for more damage.

If you move Ame down while firing it actually spreads quite a bit, while moving up keeps the bullets pretty close together if you want all shots to fire through one target.

In regular stage level, anyone can reach the end, so it doesn't matter. Mumei and Mori are some of the easiest because all you need is their regular weapons and skills maxed out to reach 19 minutes, then just grab a collab to push through to the end.
In Endless, Gura and Ina both can softlock you into an actual endless game as seen in >>27113833
