By the way her example can be used as a reference for the current wave of graduations.

I never understood people caring having a personal connection with their oshi if it comes at the cost of them having success. While it's cool to be remembered and able to chat with her, I'd be over the moon if she suddenly started pulling 100k viewers and equivalent amount of superchats, memberships, and other forms of income. Nayuta would be a counter example to that with the amount of effort she spends to keep a connection with her fans.
When they reach 10k+ viewers in their streams, you disappear and it doesn't matter if you watch or not.
Yes, it's great for them if they can handle it.
At that point I only watch occasionally if I still feel like it and don't feel any social obligation to do so.
With smaller vtubers it's harder to disappear because they may find out and you may start overthinking about it.

HACHI was ironically someone in this situation for me.
I watched her when I felt like it even when she had less viewers, but this somehow made me appreciate her more with time as it had a sense of freedom to it which fits to how she wants to be.

It's a question of time investment/reward and what you want to obtain.
With a smaller vtuber you can get the feeling of being a part of it and interact. You can enjoy the process of her improving and changing to become more popular.
If she has a good personality and is a good singer then this would usually be an advantage over a bigger vtuber where you get less for the same time invested.

There is also a part of how passive you want to be.
Is it just like a radio you switch on, or do you want to make a difference in your actions?
In the second case trying to spam Miko's chat will make you depressed and there are better ways to use your time, but you can still watch her being an elite while driving a truck.

The other reason is that people change.
If Stella and Madoka reincarnate in Hololive they won't be singing as often as before which would be good for their health, but I avoid most gaming streams because that's not what I am looking for.
Watching someone play games makes me feel like I am wasting my time and should try to improve my life instead.
In this situation I would watch them less often, and mainly when they have singing streams or a special event.

Hachi is a great example. Given I've been enjoying watching Hachi go from someone who was streaming to a couple hundred viewers when I first found her to being a relative superstar, I couldn't be happier. I'm not looking to groom my vsingers, get a social experience from them, or seek validation of my existence, I just want them to keep making content as long as they want and making more impressive things, and I'm not an oil prince who'd be able to enable that dream for all of them or even one. Watching Hachi's surprise and gratitude to her fans when her first crowd funding absolutely smashed through her expectations was amazing, and I'm not going to begrudge being able to request whatever I want to hear in exchange for that happiness for her. I also benefit from this because now I get to watch her performing at solo Lives, something that was almost unimaginable back when she was was streaming on Reality to 30 people. That journey is incredibly inspiring to watch, someone who's talented and hard working getting recognition for her efforts can be rare these days. I also want to share the joy of Hachi's singing and music with the world, since I think it's something special, and that naturally leads to more people joining me in the crowd of her viewers. I watch who I like because I like them and enjoy the time spent, not because of any obligation to be a viewer for someone just because they want to be a singer.

I kind of stopped watching MiMi regularly since she moved to her new format of doing more regular streaming with what I presume is a home setup instead of her old full body only one at the studio. She talks a whole lot more between songs these days, which I don't hate, but makes it much less easy to simply throw on in the background. I think the instrumentals this time are fresh and interesting but they still don't make the album stand out enough. I assume that the theme of the album are four different emotions but I don't feel them in each song. Berserker doesn't sound angry enough and 哀の十界 doesn't sound sad enough. Even ENJOY! JOY!! JOYFUL!!! pales in comparison in being a happy song compared to other holomem's orisongs of the same theme despite many of them having lesser skilled singers.

I love generic jpop (excuse the redundancy) and generic jpop singers, including anisongs.
Dislike vtuber originals save for a few exceptions from orisongs written by good composers.
Genuinely good singers will one day ditch us once presented with a chance to go full 3dpd as that is their real dream after all, not to sing to some lonely losers with idol pandering.
Irys, on the other hand, has the best of what could happen to her which is to be part of hololive. Take what you think of it but those are my genuine thoughts on any of her albums and songs from both past and future.
