People just got bored. I know I did.

None of the four besides maybe Luna ever made it big in the west anyway, so when Upd8 did that "Four Kizunas" bullshit, the bubble burst and vtubing died in the west for a whole year. Noja had channel issues that have completely destroyed his momentum, Luna's basically quit vtubing, and Siro and Mirai are actually still quite successful in Japan.

Ai, Siro, and Mirai made it big in Japan for the most part and still leading successful careers. Luna had something going for her for a bit but pretty much just quit after certain projects didn't work out. Nojaloli was more interested in the tech part than actually being a VTuber; I think he sold his original channel, did stuff on a new channel, and only recently got his original channel back. As for the West, VTubers were only a passing fad the first time around and only stuck longer the second time around because of the pandemic.

Youtube taking away crowdsourced subtitles and the rise of livestreaming vtuber groups with hoards of clippers kneecapped the old scripted video format overseas where streaming was already more popular. Ai lost all her momentum due to her managers trying to appeal to chinks. Luna got bored and went back to her other channel. Mirai was sick for a while but she's back and doing decent in Japan. Siro is still the alpha predator of the scene and is merely allowing other channels to grow fat and lazy before she hooks and cooks them. And Noja sold his channel to focus on more backstagey stuff. None of them are really doing bad, they're just not the stars of the scene anymore. Which makes sense since no one knows who james dean is anymore.

It's so true. The way she made Rushia kneel during the among us collab with hololive and the way she asserted dominance and absolutely took over the Vshoujo collab. Siro is not one to be messed with.

Ai-chan, Luna, and Akari had way better content when it was prerecorded or scripted than when they tried to go live
