All Cover had to do was put some lolis and milfs in EN2 and they would still be undisputed #1 and debuting more FEMALES right now... where did everything go wrong.

No what they should have done was debut IRyS and Council around the time NijiEN had their first generation.

But more importantly
>Sana was the stream monster
>hort back/job/genshin addict
>stops streaming
>mumei and bae at college, kronii mentally ill
>for 6 months after debut fauna was the only one consistently streaming at the same time each day
This is what actually killed council, all the other shit like the lore or the bad management were contributors but if you have no streams and some other company like Thunderia has Miori the not-Bae or Penis Connect has boyfriended girls to watch or Niji just has more waves, holo will obviously get bodied. Holo has been coasting off their first mover advantage and did nothing with it. Omegalol/AO is a fucking idiot, like Hannibal at the gates of Rome he 'won' but he didn't know why he won or how to use his win (but this is also wrong because it implies Omega is smart rather than lucky, while Hannibal was a tactical genius but missed the strategic implications of what he was doing).

Now they got their holoboys but niji already has another wave. Holoboys were debuted purely to overshadow vshojo and Sana's graduation, except sanner is streaming a lot so no one is going to forget her. They will remember that hololive made her do 3 weeks of streams in one week since they blocked her from streaming for a week because holoboys EN debut.

Honestly only Ina and Gura didn't plummet from Myth, while Fauna, Kronii and Mumei are more often than not ahead of the other 3 members of Myth. Rrat can also have decent viewership but timezones fuck her hard, and she can't really rely on Japanese audiences because she's competing with the literal behemoths of Hololive. And speaking of which, I find it really funny how back in 2020 Myth pretty much dominated everything and only people like Pekora or Miko really competed with them on terms of views, but now all of them dropped significantly while a lot of lower tiered JPs almost doubled their viewership. Makes those anons who thought JP vtubing was dead and over-saturated look really stupid.

Not really, or at least it doesn't seem like it. Maybe unintentionally but most of their content didn't change that drastically from how it was before. They just grinded out and ended up growing their audience, while quite a lot of ENs have wildly inconsistent schedules.

Depends on what metrics you use (so of course it's highly dependant on your own bias and what you're trying to prove).

I don't know or care enough about how it works on the twitch side of things, so if someone wants to explain how Vshojo is faring, please do.

So let's just look at a variety of metrics between HoloEN and NijiEN.

>Subs
HoloEN outperforms, largely by function of their first-mover advantage and having a lightning-in-a-bottle talent like Gura in them. Things get a little murkier when you only compare recent subgrowth and their recent gens, for example the favorite slapfight of Council vs Luxiem. It probably won't spell doom, and Holo will probably still be the overall top dog for a while, but they can't afford to get too complacent as the others are catching up and eating more and more into their share

>CCV
Again, HoloEN mostly outperforms. There are several instances of a high-ranking NijiEN talent already doing consistently better than a low-ranking HoloEN talent, but overall the total aggregate count still favors HoloEN

>Vod views
Same as above, barring the odd few individual exceptions, HoloEN comes out on top overall

>SCs
Starts to get tricky. HoloEN still outperforms overall, especially when you just take total lifetime SC earnings into account and HoloEN naturally was around for longer to collect more and the first few months when Myth were the only game in town they were making really good money. They still do, but it seems to have plateaued/reclined a bit. Now, Council definetly makes less then Myth, so the downtrend is there. Sure, they still made more than the NijiEN females that were around in their time, but when the males arrived they really BTFOd Council after that.

Overall verdict - yeah, based on past metrics, HoloEN outperforms NijiEN (especially the more you look backwards), and it would be pretty hard to argue otherwise. And they can probably afford to coast along carried on their built up past success inertia for a good while longer before you can make a case that Niji has caught up so much that NijiEN (as a whole) is outperforming HoloEN (as a whole). Whether that happens or not will depend on the future moves each company takes, for example if Cover manages to put out another lightning-in-a-bottle golden gen with EN3 they could pull ahead even farther again, and if they only put out another underwhelming disappointment like Council and lose more ground to a competition that's ever more catching up, they have no one to blame but themselves

Ina isn't called the stable 10k octopus destination for nothing. However Gura I'd argue did recline a bit. Her current range for regular normal streams (so non special event buffs) seems to be mostly around 12 to 15k these days. That's down from her ealier heydays in the beginning where 15k was just the low end of the range and her regular was more in the 20s.

>> No.28655166

>>28654576
Oh no, she definitely reclined, but when compare to how Mori, Kiara and Watson struggle to get more than 10k on their normal streams it wasn't a total plummet. It's still really weird how she is the one who dethroned Kizuna Ai but is barely on the Top 10 most watched in Hololive on average (VOD is another story, she's still one of the strongest in the company).

>> No.28655501

>>28655166
Mori was never a strong streamer so there was so little for her to recline from, and Kiara always had a smaller but more dedicated fanbase and that hasn't change much.

Im pretty sure the reason she isnt streaming is that shes coping with the fact EN management is going to force her to be the mens biggest cheerleader and she wants to savor her last days on top

Yeah, actual current S-tier JP holos like Peko, Marine or Miko etc. get about 30 to 50k ccv fairly regularly even on "normal" non-special streams. There's no one in EN who's touching that level with any kind of similar consistency. Besides maybe Gura did in the first few months, but she's reclined (and to be fair and not let the effort of the JP holos go unnoticed, they've also inclined at the same time on the other hand).

There are a lot of copexcuses thrown around for that apparent discrepancy (the most subscribed vtuber of all time gets regularly outperformed by people who have less than half the subs but more than double the live views), but one thing that probably does in fact play a role is that those S-tier JP Holos all play to a very "narrow" market very efficiently. They are all located in Japan, and all their audience is located in Japan also, so they can efficiently exploit and dominate that whole segment during their prime-time.

EN, being a much more dispersed global branch with global viewership, always has to deal with timezones. Sure, the majority of their audience is in NA, but even NA itself is several timezones, so you'll never be able to target it as optimally for everyone as JP can do it with singular Japan.

That still doesn't explain everything and for example why EN still had higher views in the beginning but managed to recline (it's probably not JUST the timezones fault, because of that were the only thing, timezones also existed in the beginning when they still managed to get about double the views they have now)

As someone who leans Nijisanji I can only that Gura situation isn't enviable. Any corpo you could go with would inevitably misuse your internet stardom. Hololive being the only viable choice to guide you, only the EN branch to be utterly squandered under mismanagement. Well her roommate will certainly have a lot to fall back on, should the worse case happen.

The JPs definitely grinded their asses, to the point it actually affected their health. Fucking Subaru was around high-mid tier with 10k viewers back when Myth debuted and now she's squarely one of the biggest talents together with Pekora, Marine and Miko, sometimes even surpassing them. About the market thing tho it doesn't really explain why they lost like tens of thousands of viewers over those 2-ish years when there are streamers on Twitch who stream for almost half a day and manage to keep an average of 20k viewers. I would say maybe their audiences got tired of them and went to other streamers, but unless they spread out super thin it doesn't make sense because no EN chuuba got a massive influx of new viewers. Even Mouse who got a boost of attention during her subathon when back to her normal numbers like a month after it. The only explanation I can think of is that the initial wave of viewers was there for the novelty and weren't willing to keep watching them or other vtubers for the long run. Even the covid buff ending isn't a good explanation in my opinion because that drop was seen around early 2021 (tho some numberfags say it was because of an initial cull that happened around that time, so who knows) and some countries were still mostly on lockdown, while Holox debuts are some of the biggest streams in vtuber history and happened way after Japan was mostly back to normal.

Have you watched streams recently anon? She’s been 20k+ for a couple months now if anything she’s inclined a lot but due to whatever bullshit excuse she refuses to stream. Consistency plays a big role in keeping engaged viewers and she just stopped out of nowhere. Especially with all these announcements dropping and her dumbass mentality of “I won’t stream I won’t wanna overlap…”

Despite everyone else in EN having no issues streaming over her, sometimes sharing her time slot.

I want to watch her but she’s really just self sabotaging herself and her growth for the rest of EN who really don’t do well regardless.

Maybe, but I wonder how well EN3 will perform since ID3 is repeating the "3rd Gen if the golden one" with all it's members doing better than pretty much all their sepai. It's really weird seeing Kaela who's the least subbed Hololive member beating Moona on her main game, but it happens, Kobo is blue woman ID version, and Zeta is kinda there and her being the one with the best language skills didn't really help in the end, but she's still doing better than the rest and sometimes gets more viewers than Ollie.
