The only ones I know of are Zen and Kromia and they're both dudes IRL. Who else does TTS?

Zen used to supplement the TTS with the 3D model making gestures and movements that match what was being said. In a lot of cases that 3D model would be doing something so vastly different from the monotone of the TTS that it becomes hilarious. Plus Zen gets freaked out by stuff really easily so you always know when she gets scared by something. The new 2D model loses some of that functionality though now the face is more expressive. One of the limitations of the 3D model was that the only thing the motion tracker could capture was the eyes due to the mouth movements being tied only to the TTS (IE it would never register Zen smiling or laughing like other facerig systems) but the 2D model now shows a full range of facial emotions while the tradeoff is now you can see the lips moving when Zen is actually talking vs. when the TTS engages and repeats what is being said.

However there's another 3D model on the way based on the current 2D model so she'll be back to making additional gestures and movements to go along with the better facial tracking. Whether she uses the 3D model all the time or not remains to be seen.

Her current character is an isekai'd dragon and when someone asked about the ALA she said "what the fuck is the ALA?" (with a smile). Her fans don't give a fuck about the ALA anymore either.

Not every vtuber has to be a parasocial relationship or a waifu, some are just characters to laugh at. I find more comfort in Zen for that reason, she is obviously a guy, but the point it's that it's a character.

I mean I got into vtubers since I find the mix of fiction and real time spontaneity very interesting, sadly most are just normie girls with an avatar, nothing "virtual" or fictional about it. Very few take advantage of it like the Omega sisters throwing their heads off like volleyballs.

I agree that TTS is monotonous as fuck, but if there was no value on it, Hatsune Miku wouldn't be a thing.

The fact Zen is the only member of vshojo using TTS suggests they're not just male(why would vshojo be opposed to hiring actual male vtubers?) but some fat balding middle-aged neckbeard with a cringey as fuck voice.

Zen has been doing this for over three years and Mouse is one of her closest friends and Mouse doesn't appear to give a fuck. Zen has interacted with and known people who have gone in to stream themselves like Nagzz and Lost Pause and neither of them have ever said anything about Zen being a guy. It's possible they don't know, or don't care, but it'd be really unlikely Zen has gone this long without somebody knowing the truth and it getting out. For the record tho, someone with LP opined once about Zen being two people, a boyfriend girlfriend duo, which is where that rumor started, but LP never stated for sure they knew. That's the closest we've ever come to someone outing Zen from the old days.
