Then you understood nothing from Fate and UBW if that was your takeaway, he doesn't end up being Kiritsugu or going down the same mistakes as Archer because he gets to grow and understand his own ideal from the events of the routes, in Fate because of getting to know Saber and how similar her story was, and in UBW by confronting his future self and having Rin's support. The fact that his wish of saving people came from Kiritsugu isn't a bad thing, it was the suicidal survivor guilt which was the main problem.
