If your take has a lot of noise in it, I'll need the background noise to be able to cancel it out better in your take.
A gate works by only allowing sound to come through when the volume is over some threshold, which means that if there's background noise, it won't show up in parts where you're silent, but it'll be there when you're singing or talking.

Could be fun, but realistically we probably would do just a thumbnail. Anymore than that would be a project of its own, like /a/ draws.
Though to be fair, it is mostly stills so it shouldn't be too hard to get drawfags and SOVL drawfags on board. Can't say much for videofags though, I imagine it would be a lot more work for them to animate/add effects.

I'm using ableton. I was using rx7 to remove noise from each take first, then multiband comp and eq to stop the mids and some highs from peaking so much. I used a dynamic eq for more kinda surgical eqing for some resonances and as a de esser (to save on cpu usage), then a wide band comp over that to even it out a little. I'm not entirely sure if the multiband was necessary, I went pretty hard on it and let it handle a lot of the work. There's probably a way to do it more transparently and clean. I also high passed each take between 80-130. On the vocal bus, I had a small cut in the low mids where everyone's fundamentals were and slight comp to even it out. Listening back now, I definitely should've lowered the vocals a lot and gain staged all the takes properly. Am open to feedback on this process, if you know better.
