I'm late to the party, but seconding this. From what I've gathered, the two talents that left did so because VirPro was more focused on numbers than actual meaningful content. They also don't appear to understand how social media works based on how little they actually shilled their talents.

Perhaps I should be more clear - VirPro is going to mandate what you play and with whom in their pursuit of higher numbers. That's not the way to grow as a VTuber. The only good thing they offer is assistance in model creation/rigging. But don't think you can do what the other two talents did and just drop off VirPro if you don't like the management pressure. Those talents owned their models ahead of time and retained rights the entire time. Panda and the others still with VirPro would have to give up their avatar completely if they left.

VirPro is the worst small-time agency you could've applied to. They are way too shady, bad contract, and even worse numbers than the others. If you want to go for it anon nobody can stop you. It just is not the way to get started. You'd be better off as an indie than with them.

For smaller startups, Tsunderia and Prism are good for pre-established. Akio and Cyber seem good so far for newer companies. Don't tie yourself to a bad company like VirPro

If you don't have an avatar coming in, yes. Frankly it's predatory and gives the agency far too much control over you and your content. Because all they have to do is threaten to graduate you and make you lose all your hard work in order to get you to do what they want.

Hololive does this too right? Or literally every other agency. I doubt they would just threaten to graduate a talent after putting in the money of a model. The current talents are playing some debuff shit too so I doubt they are forced to play that.

>> No.3661487

>>3661389
Hololive can do it because they're the biggest and just being able to put them on a resume and to develop entertainment industry contacts is plenty reward to keep post graduation. VShojo kept all their models, upgrading some with agency money but pretty sure all the girls kept their rights. Otherwise graduation is always on the table for other agencies.

I wonder, if your applying for something like hololive and you're already a vtuber, would they want you to make a new character for the application? I figure this is more an /asp/ thing than a /wvt/ thing. In short, I'm looking for feedback on my most recent overlay change. It's specifically set up for Pokemon atm, but the general idea is the same for regular games. Bottom tabs scroll text of recent follows, subs, and bits. Right grayed section is for chat. Above the main screen is Stream Avatars. And I don't think I need to say anything about the charity tracker.

I'm mostly just trying to bring polish to when I actually do non-tabletop streams. Those have their own unique overlays that are themed to the specific system/setting.

>> No.3666208

It looks good but I would not devote so much screen space to the rules. I suggest dragging your bottom screen capture to where the rules are so your model doesn't obscure anything and bring your chat a bit wider so isn't so narrow

Hm. The problem with the chat window is that I'd have to shrink the other screen captures in order to make it wider. I can definitely swap the bottom capture and the rules, though. I mostly had the rules there so I don't have to set up a Nightbot timer or command every time someone asks.

The reality is, anything that's not on the top 50 twitch charts is pretty much a debuff. If you want to get famous you'd play Fortnite or some other such thing. Paradox games have their die hard fanbases that might not translate well if you start playing other games outside of it, but It's not the worst place to start. Dominions however, I don't see being a very streamable game. Amazing to play, but I've tried to watch even edited lets plays of it and It's just not a good viewing experience from what I've seen. But by all means, chuuba dominions hasn't been tried yet, so who knows...?

I got too attached to my viewer base and the anxiety was killing me to be honest. I want to care so badly, I wanted to be true friends so badly, but I didn't have the capacity to, and these were with the small numbers of 50 ~ 70 average viewers. I can't imagine continuing this any further.

You'd have to be some degree of a sociopath to succeed in something like this and not feel pained or burdened.

Maybe I'll be back in a month or two, maybe I'm gone forever. I just need a breather.

Having eyes on you isn't all its cut out to be. You will still feel lonely, you will still feel out of place in a place where you feel like you're supposed to belong.

Yeah, having people around you sometimes doesn't make you any less lonely and it sucks. Feeling like a stranger in a place that should feel like home is a terrible thing, and something that's really uncomfortable. From the sound of it, I think a break would be a good idea. Just step back and think things through. People will be waiting if you return, and if you don't, then like I said, you will be missed. she's messed up psychologically from beating the fuck out of it though, and she still laments every once in a while about how the dragon was an old friend. for the dragon had gotten bored of humans encroaching on his territory, and he aimed to bring destruction to their kind for theft of his land.

fortunately, for her, the task of being mayor is super fucking easy, leaving her with a lot of free time to heal. what has she taken to with her boredom? streaming! she wants to expand her audience of people. she wants to be friends with everyone!

she'll likely play FOTM games and talk about her life. i already have a lot written for her in terms of stories she will recount. i hope that she instills a comfy vibe that makes people want to tune into her!

You must be new here, welcome to top quality prices. IV is basically some of the best rigging you can get. I'm on a waitlist for an artist that I'll be spending $1000 on, and I was considering getting IV to rig it afterwards, so the total would be like $4000-5000 total, but that option is probably out now since the artist hasn't even started my commission (hopefully I get in for June). Or perhaps you really did perform below expectations, so it's important to try to set somewhat objective/consistent expectations for each stream so you can tell if you really did "underperform" in some metric or if you're just beating yourself up senselessly.

>>3691147

The problem with streaming (especially as an indie) is there's no real "off work" time. You have no office, no clock to follow, so your brain eventually thinks that no matter what you should be working. You also won't have much to really judge progress since all you have are a few metrics from whatever site you stream on and nothing else.

There's a certain aspect of it where you need to just trust yourself and what you are doing. You have people watching you and randos joining in your content so you already have some people interested.

I have an excellent guitarist as my friend who I'm gonna see if I can get music out of. Probably WAY to early to even think about it, but I want every advantage I can get honestly.

>I have wondered however that it is a bit odd that most vtubers generally look like an animated gacha or VN character, rather than more directly inspired by you know, fucking anime characters? The otaku medium with motion to it beyond a moving mouth? The format that would make a most natural looking transition to this? ????

>I've thought for the past few weeks now if I were going to design and rig a char and be an indie etc, I'd model myself off something like a mid-late 80s OVA quality anime type shading/lighting effects etc. Because you don't really see anything like that somehow in this field with fucking thousands of tubers, and it'd look actually very unique. I'm guessing someone's probably done it but is a literal 2-view or already graduated.

So I ask you, anons:

Would a live2d model colored, shaded and rigged in the manner of Trigger, KyoAni or PA Works' animation actually work? Or rather, has it worked at all? Would it be less uncanny valley than an animated gacha/VN sprite?

I've watched Solnako on Twitch before and he's got a Trigger-inspired model but it's 3d, but it's pretty nice.

>>3696594
shading is a bit of a pain to do in l2d and rigging is basically deforming and not actual animation so it wouldn't look the same unless you get someone really talented doing experimental shit

sounds like it's be extremely expensive to do via live2d. you're probably better off paying out the ass for a cel shaded 3D model that mimics 2D like that No no Kuni game.

Were you a streamer or vtuber before joining the agency? What do you find to be the advantages of being in an agency? I sometimes wonder how much is marketing and how much is down to having group of chuubas that can interact and synergise.

Sorry if you misunderstood! The cel style shading is part of the sprite components as with every live2d ever!

The other vtubers that I know that kind of have this style are And Uge, Usami Ichigo and Azuchi Momo, and Pikamee. And that one english speaking meerkat dude that got mentioned one time.

I know about limiting the frame rate in live2d cubism to mimic cel animation at least.

yeah, I don't know of any of those other than Pikamee if that gives you any idea of whether it'll "work" don't rely on gimmicks, you still need to be an entertainer

i had stream experience before joining and becoming a vtuber but not too much. my agency isn't terrible, the staff is nice but they aren't reliable always. advantages are the automatic buff that comes with being in an agency as well as the quality models they gave us that i could never afford. during my audition though they were kinda sketch

i think marketing is better than the group in the early stages. nobody knows who you are and the hard carries are clippers, word of mouth, and other marketing the company does. not so much hey look they are friends even if we all are.

I've got plans to do VR chat streams but I need to get my trust rank up first before I can upload the model

>> No.3700910

>>3700714
Even if you were an indie vtuber you wouldn't be paid 100% of the value that you produce at least in respect to each viewer. There will be a lot of viewers who "exploit" you and get entertainment from you which is valuable to them, but not pay you for that value you gave them.
