I'd say it's too early to tell. Emulations generally don't represent the final game's quality, but reading the impressions of people who are playing it, it seems like it'll be alright. I think a lot of the designs of Pokemon would look better if they were 2D first (many are seemingly based on beta designs and I can see why they initially remained as beta designs) however they're are plenty of really great ones too. The 3D Models don't do older designs justice at times, I remember not being too on board with Ursaluna until seeing the official 2D art.

I'm pretty sure it's largely due to things like this. When she speaks/types simply in English in a way that they can respond easily to, it means a lot to them. If they do end up getting a bit confused or lost, she always helps out in Japanese
