I actually do think this has been discussed before and I remember people bringing up that it has something to the way the algorithm works. If you specialize in shorts, then your shorts are going to be pushed more by youtube than your live content, which isn't ideal if you're mainly a streamer. I believe it's the same reason that big youtubers like MrBeast or Ludwig removed live streams from their channel to promote their edited video content. Not sure how the new changes affect that though.
