Cover nabbed the best of the best minus one of indie ENs on Gen 1. Every other EN indie worth their salt rode the hype of Gen 1 to now have their own large followings. There's nobody left and it's all downhill from here.

Across all gens though, EN was if anything the outlier, and not in the way you think. There are many JP gens that straight up have no indie vtubers in them. Here's a list of notable holos who were not indies prior to hololives:

I doubt that at least one of them actually auditioned. ID Gen 2 auditions ended 8/27/20, announcement was 12/4/20: 99 days

If we use both dates as a range with the end date of EN Gen 2 (3/26/21), the announcement will be between 7/2/21 and 8/12/21.

Before any of you speculate on EN2's make up, remember some important things that we can already assume

1. EN2 will have a semi coherent theme, like Holomyth and Holofantasy. Using those two as a basis though, it will be fairly loosely executed upon, however the theme will still be there.
2. Hololive does actually have a fairly consistent design philosophy. If your idea boils down to "Tanned Tomboy" or "Buff Milf" then you've designed a Nijisanji character, not a Hololive character. Hololive characters tend to have Zoological or Mythical themes on top of their already existing character tropes.
3. Hololive is very prone to hiring none vtubers, or even none streamers. see >>3909544
4. They have a VERY strong preference for Japanese speakers, see Kiara, Ina and Mori.
5. Cover are very VERY good at screening.

The only thing I'd be willing to bet on is that we're likely to see some sort of Japanese girl with very good ESL, especially since Mori needs the company.
