Game Freak must be kicking themselves that they made an entire character based off of Gura, expecting her to stream the game, and then turns out she gets incredibly sick and doesn't even play it. And because Hololive has some dumb policy where people can only play Pokemon for a couple weeks (a policy I have not seen any other company have to follow, so the ball is clearly in Cover's court) and Gura probably won't be back for months, the time to play it will have passed. Luckily they somehow foresaw this and made a character based on Mori as a backup- oh shit.

Culturally she's exactly the same as a Vtuber, not a regular streamer. The lines are blurred for video game references because they're inherently already Virtual. Same thing for Needy Girl Overdose.

they just made a reference to streaming and vtubers, imo she was based off chuubas but they made her a actual streamer. shame because it would have been kino to have her come out and be in a plain outfit, like more "nerdy" and shy, and the iono we see (all colourful , loud and confident) is the vtuber.
if they make references they are obvious about it, like this retard in picrel. they also have referenced celebs in the past but I cant remember who. I think in sun/moon there was a very blatent celeb.
