Harsh reality, it's not entirely that though, sometimes new gens can bring out some new motivation in the older gens because the new recruits always come in fully motivated with a lot of ideas that they want to try out to impress everyone. Imagine EN3 brings out someone like Koyori, Pekora or Subaru tiers of creativity and personality.

I have worked managing a retail store with around a dozen employees. A month where we only made 5 figures was considered bad and warranted a meeting.
I would imagine a globally known entertainment company would not be seeking "profit" that sustains the streamer and pays for half a manager. They are looking for breakout talent that can bring in corporate interest and the big money. Since streamers are low maintenance they are willing to wait years for a breakout to happen, as they have done with a lot of HoloJP.
Breaking out statistics about being amongst the top percentage of streamers does not matter, as streaming is not an economically sustainable activity for the 99%. The top 1% can live off of streaming, but being part of a corporation means not living off of your earnings, but earning enough to be worthwhile to a corporation.

Now that you point it out, that is actually incredibly damning that the response to a new gen announcement is to shut down the one sanctioned spot Cover would like people to talk about their talents.
