Thanks anon. After a quick look, I think "Elysian Fields" would be a better fit than "The Past" or "Valhalla" since Lanius has a roman aesthetic and Elysium is a greco-roman mythology thing (It's the resting place of heroic warriors, so similar energy to valhalla), and there is actually a place called Elysium in Vitubia, so it's a word that exists in-universe. "Valhalla" clashes a little bit because we have "Palhalla" in-universe.
"The Pits of Hell" is quite nice and has the same energy as "The Styx", I think it would sound cool.
"The Bronze Age" is nice because his armor is bronze and that was a period known for its wars.
If I had to pick one, I think I'd go for "The Pits of Hell" just because it'll sound the coolest when the announcer shouts it while fitting.

For anyone like me that has no idea when tf UTC actually is, I added a timer to the site that counts down until the next world tick. Its transparent and small so it shouldn't get in the way, but for mobile users its a tad larger so you can always dismiss it with the X at the top right. Self-sufficiency anon here, currently working on amassing resources until I have enough to feel comfortable trying for village. In the meantime though, one thing I’ve noticed is there doesn’t seem to be a lot of motive to do trades or quests since any reward you get from them just depletes over the next few days. Unless you can get enough all at once to upgrade, it seems more beneficial to wait and let your stockpiles grow naturally. This also means that the new quest type doesn’t have much of a punishment either since I tend to just let quests sit around rather than complete or decline them. One change that might be interesting is to make quests auto-decline after X number of ticks or days to disincentivize this stagnation and it adds a bit of realism as well since a merchant isn’t just gonna sit around for months waiting for you to buy their corn.
I’ve also noticed that my happiness seems to be staying at 110. I’m not sure if it’s frozen or if this is just where the cap is, but I figured you should know. I think I’m also still a node down from what I should be btw.
The new tick countdown and row breaks for quests are looking good though. Keep up the great work!

Yeah I was hoping the "punishment" (not sure I like that wording, but I get what you mean) would be that if you let them sit, you'd eventually stop getting any of the other quests since they'd fill your slots.

Noted. One of the things the database tracks is when the quest was created, so I've been wanting to play around with quests that change over time. Thanks for the idea! If you have more, let me know!

/indie/ here. Are we going to have a vote this weekend for our placement on the map?

Currently working and thinking about economics. I noticed there is a warmer and cooler climate model, which is confusing me on which i should use but I plan on making us a rather agrarian, diverse small business type of economy. I think that having a diverse economy makes sense given the thread itself. The funny thing about economics is that self-sufficiency is nigh impossible even if you produce all the goods because of the quantitative/qualitative factors and supply and demand. I will need to look into geology of the areas for non-foodbased crops and perhaps the watertable if possible to see what makes the most sense. I am a bit of a geology nerd myself but help is welcome if anyone wants to do it for me or help me do it.

Hopefully, i can also start giving feedback and show some love to other writers here too soon.

Hello there. I can try to help you with he climate and crops things if you want. I think the climate of your desired location is fairly similar in either case (Cfa, maybe with some Csa mixed in), which is fairly decent in terms of agriculture. You can grow a myriad of tropical, subtropical and warm temperate plants and their related products, so that should help you in terms of biological production.

White could use work, looks too clean for a mountain range, mess it up a little, simulate winding mountain valleys.
Orange could be removed, border placed at the river, a good geographical landmark for it.

On another note, /#/ anon, and /indie/ anon as well, I would come to you two with a proposal. /Nasfaqg/ has been given a language called "Kat Nol" by the conglanganon who sadly has left the project, and I was wondering if either of you would be interested in forming our own language group based on Kat Nol?
I understand that for /indie/ anon specifically this might not be the most ideal outcome since you wanted Japanese aesthetics, although that could be worked around by giving the /indie/ language some Japanese-style influence from either any of the sources around them (namely, /2434/ and /morig/).

/Nasfaqg/ itself uses a mixture of Holodhennet (/hlgg/ language and a general "hololive language" i suppose) and Kat Nol.
Information about Kat Nol can be found in the "Languages" section of the lore document.

Furthermore, for /#/ anon I would like to present the idea of the Ka-ti Mak people (pic rel). The inspiration for them lies in the /jp/ era /hlg/ and /hlgg/ "SELL" and "BUY" posting, which was a clear form of numberfagging. Since /#/ and /nasfaqg/ are both numberfag threads (although different in their approaches), I thought it would make sense for the two to share some ethnic, cultural, and linguistic aspects. What do you think?

Our thread i think would be older and probably use the same, or similar language to /2434/ for most people since we would likely have similar origins, i think. I don't know what /morig/'s specific language is, but our thread is so foreign to most of the board that i'm not sure if it makes sense for them to have influence on us, though how they speak a similar language is interesting and worth a discussion.

I need to think more about the culture and language aspect between /indie/ and /nasfaq/, we would probably have a minority that speaks it but part of what makes /indie/ well /indie/ is that we pride ourselves on our 2views and in simplistic terms, small numbers. It's an interesting counterpoint with numbers and nasfaq next to us to think about.

Good points about pride, that might be a good route to explore where the language is basically the same but we both call it differently and i would assume that other nations could make the case. the indie continent would have 3 overall language groups

teal is for nations that have JP era roots or are related in a way.

yellow is the western language for /wvt/ and related threads.

and orange is a small corpo language that evolved from a shared idealogy from the western language.

this was first and foremost for the continent and to give it some historic and flavorfoul lore, but technicly the teal language of JP era could also reach further as nations form that time got violently thrown across the whole of vitubia and would make sense for /indie/ and /2434/ too.

this is a langauge group for the inworld btw, it does not mean that nations need to speak a certain language to fit in

Brief History of /Unou/

Before the crisis of the 4th century (coco and lulu graduation, something that really needs to be written about more) it was the furthest most western outpost of the Empire and was a stronghold for Lulu. When the crisis happened, the Daimyo in charge of it split off permanently without many troubles. The island has strong ties with indie, meat and even reconciled with 2434 who recognised its autonomy whenever Unou debuted. The basic thought behind it is sort of like the greek colonies across the Mediterranean, being independent from its mother city (sometimes fighting them but idk if that happens) and so on.

It will be a mixed culture of indie, native lulu, and 2434. We will see what that looks like, will be interesting to see this thread and indie next to /#/ if anything…

Besides what I mentioned above in regards to the border proposals, you might also want to check out the interactive map in the OP which has distance and area tools to help you get a better idea of how big things are without the polar distortion affecting the visual size. As far as potential thread/national relations go, /wg/ doesn’t have very much numberfaggotry or indie discussion going on, but there is at least one anon I can think of who has taken on the mantle of writing indie stories, so there are some avenues already in place for interaction. Mostly agree here, though i don't think there is a particular issue with a thread like /unou/ (it's up now) having something like a small island in the world to represent it because it adds diversity and more lore. Same goes for other threads that are like it, just having a province somewhere could properly represent them well. It also depends on the thread itself and we really don't need to get single minded about how a thread gets represented in world.
