Seems to be doing what it got on the tin. From what I could see it might be having issues if the channel-url @NAME for a channel ever was to change. Like for jp corpo autism reasons.
Keeping warnings could be considered, you want to know early when things start to break or something does not go accordingly. Unless I'm missing something they seem to be supressed by default.
Not sure how or if it will be able to handle memberstreams that have never been posted as a public stream.
But those will not show up anywhere other than the members page anyway so none of the other tools would be able to grab it automatically either.

Archive Version looks okay. Lazy version is sloppy, not just lazy.
The WebM-Container only supports VP8/VP9/AV1 for video and ogg/opus for sound. This is a limitation of the container not the codecs. Unless I'm seeing it wrong you are trying to force everything in the lazy version into a webm as output file. This one should probably work the same as the Archive version just using a different, faster video codec instead of trying something stupid.
Got another maybe slightly weird point that absolutely will need some testing. Did you try avc/h264 for lossless archival? At least for full form, normal video content that one will usually come out on top in terms of smallest size.
Both HEVC/AV1 are heavily and I mean HEAVILY optimized towards lower available bandwith - i.e. developed for streaming where you want to drop as much bandwith as possible and still get an 'okay' image.
Also also You might want to drop the bechmark flags, those are probably leftovers from testing I'd guess?

Helpfields for the user inputs could do being a little more verbose. Like wanting a timestamp for both start and end, not just duration. How the crop works, not just a plain example. i.e. width:height:x:y Crop width/height and x/y starting at the top left corner.
This seems to be meant for Hootiebrain that is not able to figure out ffmpeg on their own, so probably better to include that sort of thing. Also at least strip the inputs, we are dealing with Hooties after all..
Would have probably done the filterchain with a dictionary but this works so it's whatever.
I'm however not really sure about the order. If you crop first and rescale after that, you end up scaling the cropped image. Not sure if that is what you wanted but usually you would rather be doing something like -vf "scale=-1:720,crop=in_w*0.275:in_h*0.85:in_w*0.725:in_h*0.15" if you had to rescale for size/image quality reasons. This is obviously not going to work with fixed size but who is gonna use that. Hooties, Hooties will.
The padding is only really required if youtube fucked something up with the stream again. That was the case 5 or so months ago but got fixed at some point. Or ytarchiver/yt-dlp are able to handle whatever youtube did.

Encode should be done using ConstrainedQuality instead of ConstantQuality, if just to stay below 4mb.
With a soundpost that is going a little longer you can easily go past the 4mb size limit. CRF 30 is also quite a bit low, 20 should be working fine for most soundposts that are properly cropped up to maybe 12ish seconds(constrained mode). While you are at it, you might also want to include -row-mt 1 -threads 0 -deadline best -pix_fmt yuv420p10le. Using a higher preset(quite noticeable once bitrate gets a bit low), enabling row-based multithreading and 10bit colorformat. 10bit might break compat with some phones but that shouldn't really affect all that many Anons.

I did assume the additional mkv-file that contains both video and audio was for archival purposes but it ends up getting cleaned up all the same, wouldn't it be better to combine the two last steps at that point?
It might be cleaner to directly convert the timestamps into start+duration instead of doing that operation two times over at a later point.

I agree, I should also abuse the fact that FFprobe was done on an earlier part of the code to give examples in relation to the input file itself. I could also create some default inputs like for CRF and actual error handling to stop malformed inputs from crashing the code and allow the user to re-attempt the problem section.

That was the intent, since I wanted it straight forward with pixels rather than in*scalar for positioning and size as someone advanced enough to reason those out probably would just run ffmpeg on their own. However this ties in with the first point where increasing the verbosity can teach them more advanced methods while making it easier overall.

This is actually because of the way I'm scanning the video in the first step to quicken up the process. If you scan through the video while looking to encode the segment, it takes a lot more time to actually scan to the segment to retain accuracy. So I had it grab the timestamped zone with the padding (to limit the effect of I/P/B-frame position at intended clip) first then encode only the segment of interest into the output.
>Constrained/Constant Quality
This decision was after doing many test encodes to compare quality/size where I found Constant Quality would outperform on higher CRF, keeping both visual quality at max and filesize at min. That's actually the reason I suggest 30, when comparing visually the text-quality, the moments of large movement, Constant Quality at 30 was identical to Constrained at 20. Reminder we're working with OBS streams where the quality is focused on pass-ability and low bitrate anyway, if we were talking about 4k real life videography I would definitely notice more visual distortion by using these settings, I would definitely be concerned about these settings. Swapping the flags to these HQ ones as you suggest is something I've not tested, but am willing to implement.

Alright then, just seemed a little odd and wasn't really sure if that was an oversight or intentional. Might be worth pointing out the order early to make sure the crop won't get upscaled by accident.

I'm not sure if that is sufficiently pointed out in the ffmpeg documentation but the inacurrency should only be affecting the use of positional arguments as input options. i.e. -ss 1234 -i IN_File and should not make a difference (for copy) if used as output options. It's going to make a large difference for the actual encoding process, that much is true...but that's what the pre-cutting is taking care of.

This might be a point of divergent approaches.
Situations heavy in movement will have a huge impact on image quality, this is already a thing with just the incoming data from the stream (OBS/NVENC/YT all take a whiff at it) even before we get to put a hand on it.
As we do have a hard filesize limit our goal should be not to hard min-max but to make sure we are using the available limits the best way we can. With that fixed max size we are down to either purely Bitrate based(ABR/VBR) or a hybrid approach with Constrained to make sure are not going to exceed the file size limit. Doesn't really matter how much better the results might look if we can't use them because they are too big.
I don't know your exact testing examples but yes constrained might put an additional limit to quality in some cases over pure constant quality - but that is down making sure we do not hit the filesize limits.
As long as we do not hit the bitrate limit constrained works identically to constant and at least my own tests do show as much. Some tweaking might be possible in setting min/max bitrates but that is going to exceed the scope of a simple soundpostscript for Hooties.
If we go down into the swamps of very long soundposts where bitrates drop to stupid low levels things might look different yet again but at that point you should rather consider if you really need a soundpost that long in the first place.

Even then, something like "1h3m25s" or "1hr 10mins" is not out of the question even for a reasonable user and input validation is usually easier than accounting for each and every case. On 4chan, yes. There's also liveboards that generally run a more advanced/filetype friendly system which are a consideration of mine.
libopus defaults to 96kbps, but the purpose of "lazy" is that it's lazy and shouldn't really considered a viable option for true archiving. However, I see your point. I should definitely put more thought into it (and the Archival quality version) to be quicker and as lossless as possible.

My main focus is mitigation of I/P/B-frame data causing either smear glitches or frozen frames, not actually mistiming of start/stop times. By doing an encoding copy rather than a re-encode you run the risk of those problems, so the thought is to give enough padding to securely avoid starting during a smear/frozen frame while also keeping the process relatively quick.
