People also say HoloGamers are the ones Fubuki scouted and there is a partial element of truth to both that and Mel’s situation. I would say ‘scout’ is too strong of a word to describe what took place and more appropriate to say it is possible, maybe even likely, that Mel encouraged some to apply for Hololive and during the process put in a good word for them as an internal recommendation.

Her life experiences which brought her into contact with a range of other talented performers means that she'd have been probably the only reference Cover could turn to to get an opinion. First of all Ayame and Gura still draw big numbers whenever they stream. Mel's main draw, lewd stuff, ASMR, etc, was all kneecapped during Susan's crusade against Erolive. It's why Choco went from the fastest growing talent in Hololive to the gutter. As for her not streaming, that was because she was first trying to get Cover to change her manager and then had to hire her own lawyer and threaten legal proceedings.

You're getting your dates wrong, her issues with her manager didn't start until Summer/Fall 2019 and continued until final resolution in May 2020.

Her lack of streaming due TO the manager as you suggest did happen but only from February to June 2020. What I'm referring to with regards to Ayame/Gura mode is her lack of streaming from May 2018 until April 2019.
