I wouldn't say her neutral is honest, a lot of characters have trouble getting past 6M-236 note pressure when cornered, even with a predicted jump. You can just chip some characters to death. The main problem seems like Aki, and Aki is retarded right now and basically cheats neutral. No other character can just teleport behind a giant sword while having an active hitbox.

The thing about that pressure is that you can jump the sword. Sora can of course just do nothing and wait for you to jump and then swat you out of the air but the reward she gets for anti-airing is like a 20% combo whereas some characters like Fubuki or Botan just jump in and do 35-40%. Once you instill that fear of jumps into the Sora it becomes a lot easier to manage the ground game at closer ranges because she's not going to throw out swords like an idiot (assuming they're thinking) since the risk/reward game is skewed.

To me the silliest strong thing about Sora is that she can build superchat meter at a hilarious rate by spamming all of her special moves at long range, but at least Aki, Botan, and Fubuki can just murder you for doing that instead. A lot of what makes the game kuso besides the ultra poverty input reading, buggy shit, and outright baffling move properties is just the extremely polarizing matchups from uneven move sets. Like one guy is over here designing a character with a normal really strong fireball and then someone over there is going "bro what if this character had a nearly instant full screen move with no hurtbox" with his own (shitty) idea of drawbacks but no consideration for how these two moves are going to interact.

The sword is fucking hard to jump. If you do it on reaction and she whiffs, she recovers before you come down from the jump. You have to basically predict that it's going to come out, but she can just wait at max range and force you to make a bad choice. If you block, you're stuck holding note pressure. Some characters have it easier besides Aki, like Korone and Ayame but it's still not necessarily easy to get past. I actually tested with Botan and she doesn't punish max range 6M with a jumpin unless she's practically reading your mind and jumps extremely early.

That setup also isn't exclusive to Aki. Pretty much any character can take advantage of it. Fubuki probably does it best though because of her instant overhead and crossup.

Suisei isn't much harder to pressure. The only difference is having a frame 5 instead of a frame 6 button, but the range on the crouching one is extremely questionable and using the standing one is just asking to whiff on crouchers. GGs anon that was fun. I'm not an Ayame main but I can tell you how some of them were able to beat me. Sometimes they only do one hit of recca into more pressure. The recca itself is a mixup. I also see a lot of them do staggered jabs while walking up for more pressure into their crazy blockstrings.
During all those matches I was constantly terrified of you cancelling unsafe stuff into 22x which you were doing well. I guess try to go ham and do it more often. As Ayame you can definitely get away with it. You also knew when to go for grab but I guess after her demon flip I can punish with my own grab.

Oh and also don't forget about her ghosts. That move is crazy good.

In general though you should block more on wakeup. I was also throwing out Aki's 5 and 6M to catch your random Demon Flips so try to be wary of when to use it. Also most Aki's will do her teleport way more often than I did so that's another thing to be wary of. It is reactable but it's hard.

We both would have played better if it weren't for the 200 ping though.

It depends on Ayame's flip type. Jumping one is always unsafe on block. The grounded one is safer and gets combos into her lights but it depends on spacing. The tech traps I'm a bit split on. Ayame's flips are all unsafe at -5, unless you space it at tip range and in that case it becomes -4, and you cannot combo out of it unless you get a counter. The move just kinda sucks and is only useful in some niche cases like catching dashes and backdashes to get the counterhit property but flip gets beat out by basically every button in the game which makes it even worse. There is almost no reason to use the move aside from being a combo ender from j.5m. Getting a hit isn't that rewarding, getting blocked loses you your turn or you get punished, the move has basically zero priority so any button beats it, it's only good on counterhit but because there is no sfx for counterhit so you have to guess if the hit you got was a counter or a punish. Even the fixed 5M-5H has the problem. But I think I found out why now. I tried mashing against 5L-5M-5H as three characters. Fubuki, Botan and Coco. I held down back and mashed their fastest moves. Fubuki and Botan just get counterhit if they try to mash 5L or 2L against 5M-5H. Even Fubuki's 4H counter loses. But, for some reason Coco 2H mash beats the blockstring half of the time. The other half, you just stay blocking and don't get punished. And this is a frame 12 move, which makes it really weird. She can also beat it with 2L.

tldr: Coco's weird crouching hurtbox makes some blockstrings worse for some reason.

Yea, Coco has weird ass hurtbox on many of her moves and actually beat out some suisei's move due to hurtbox nuance rather than frame data.
That's why I always 3H and 2M a lot against coco to avoid those low profile move messing me up
