Bugs definitely plays the part but the decision comes after they swatted the bug problems semi successfully. I'm more inclined to believe what she's saying that it is largely a creative differences and the direction of what she wants to be as a entertainer and what cover wants. Told my rents and my boss how my favorite "youtuber", whose channel I'm a member of and of whom I've bought merch - someone I highly respect and admired, had announced her retirement. It's a real shame the PS3 HD version of 1&2 never made it into English because that's the best way to start the series without digging out your old PS2 or having to use an emulator. Kiwami 1 and 2 are very good remakes but going from basically the combat of 0 and 6 to 3's is a real shock to the system. I cannot express how true this statement is. I have played 0, Kiwami 1&2, then 3&4 and honestly 0 set my standards too high. If you start with 0 and go in the order I did, it is a decline with the fall from Kiwami 2 to Yakuza 3 being akin to falling off a cliff gameplay wise. YouTube has certainly taken the "You" out of it and should rightly be called "CorpTube" these days, surely no one but large corporations have the reach to actually protect their shit on the platform anymore. Even car channels have gotten nuked from orbit and the very nature of the content ensures it's all completely original.

While there is clearly an opening for a more independent/user focused platform to grow and replace YouTube for independently user generated content, the few platforms that start building an audience inevitably run into issues getting noticed because Google owns the search engine everyone uses and intentionally buries the alternative platform so it can't gain traction.

I decided to throw all shame away and just try to enjoy her the fullest while she's there so that I have no regrets, then go back to normal.
I thought superchats were dumb. But during the last talking stream I just sent one in Japanese (more of a funny one), to not regret never having done it later. Her answer to it made me feel a lot better, since my message of support could reach her and make her laugh. I feel like such a pathetic loser just typing this, but who cares.

What still makes me tear up if the reactions of the other girls or even some of the fan projects. It's kind of touching to see how many people love her.
Part of me is also a bit disappointed in the girls though. They probably did their best for Japanese standards, but as someone who likes to say "sometimes you have to force someone to their luck", meaning, most of the time the person themselves doesn't know what the right action to find happiness is, and often they are misguided due to only having a limited point of view. You sometimes have to force them to do something that they might even think is a mistake initially, to help them get back on the right path. It comes a bit from my own experience, where something like this has turned my life completely around, so I'm a bit biased.

I still don't know if her move is really correct, but the status quo is also a huge waste of potential. Tbh I also don't want her to return back to being Kson. I want her to do something radical.

According to most girls who heard her arguments for graduating, she was so convincing about it that they really had no counter arguments to convince her to stay. Regarding the creative differences, I know she's been blocked from restarting Asacoco a couple of times, but surely she realizes that Cover will still provide more resources and opportunities than going at it alone? Even if some ideas get shot down, eventually one will stick, right? I know she probably cannot talk about it, but some idea as to what she wanted to do might help a lot in dealing with this.

Then with the "smile" business. She always seemed happier to me during the smaller 2-4 person collabs than on solo game streams. Even during zatsudans she seemed pretty happy chatting about what her friends did or ate. It feels like she should be doing the opposite of graduating. I don't see how she will be happier streaming alone without the interaction with the other holomembers.
It's not like the spam will stop because she leaves, and it's not like she will collab much with anyone because they will still get spammed despite her no longer being a holo.

You're looking at this from a perspective of "stream content" rather than what will actually make her happy. She has a life outside of streaming (sort of). She likes hanging out with her friends, and she will still do that without being in Hololive. You just won't see it or hear much about it.
She literally joined the company to be a content producer. Making shows like Asacoco is her passion. And now she isn't allowed to do it, and after 4-5 months of discussions with her bosses, any management sanctioned ideas were lame shit she wouldn't have any fun making.
