The general line of thought from upper management is that connecting Stars with an Expo stream gets more eyes on them, which could lead to more individuals becoming interested in them, thus increasing their viewership, leading to more donations, merch sales, etc. Raising a talent’s income isn’t just about giving immediate excuses for people to shill out bucks, it’s also about finding ways to connect them to different audiences and make them seem appealing to new viewers.
Now, not claiming that this stream is the correct way to go about it, or that it was successful, just that it’s where upper management sees the merit in doing the stream.
In any case, shoving aside a planned 3D stream that was already scheduled just because someone else tried to book when it was full sets a dangerous precedent.
Which types of streams get higher priority? Which talents get higher priority? Why do they get higher priority?
