Council lore is a bit of a stretch, but I can at least consistently get an idea of what they're aiming for. And viewed as a whole, it's not hard to at least understand they're each supposed to symbolize something. Plus each of their designs are still pretty distinct.

With Advent, it just feels like there's so much going on with each individual design, and no real goal as singular designs or as a group. Maybe I've just been spoiled too much by more outlandish design themes and have forgotten how to appreciate a goth design with no twists, but even then I just feel like previous hololive designs have captured similar appeals with cleaner designs. I dunno, it just sort of all bleeds together to me.
