Hololive always have something "big" happening every week. A 3D concert. Costume reveal. Big collab. Or something. I have noticed this for a few months now. They are good at scheduling these stuff. If there were no fluctuations in numbers sure. If it was consistently 30k then I agree but they don't. Roboco debuffed the stream from 40k to 30k. Then went up to 50k. That's a jump of 20k viewers that aren't sitting around following every one.

Averaging here is "muggles math" because the events didn't happen in the same "time range", with the first few events of one starting way earlier than the other.

Even then the averages are really close. If you give Choco the same numbers of Iofi (the peak seems to be the same on that screenshot) the average of averages is

> 37900 :: Akukin
> 36300 :: Usaken

The effect here is the same they use to push tthat bullshit "gender pay gap" theory where
>having more people in the lower brackets (while also having more people overall) drags the whole average down

If you remove Botan stream (that makes for 13 streams for Usaken vs. 12 for Akukin) the averages become

> 37900 :: Akukin
> 37500 :: Usaken

Meaning they did approx. the same in their respective relays, which is expected because Hololive have a very non tribalistic audience (with regards to intracompany talent)

They're not really events that can be compared numerically, it's like trying to compete an Indy race with a F1 one. You could try to compare top speed, avg speed, race time but it doesn't make sense because the circumstances are different.

You are right that both did right tho, that second avg (12 last legs of each relay) shows they did more or less the same with regards to audience.

One thing that most people miss is that the Akukin got an EOP boost with an official mod Reddit announcement having been made back for the Akukin relay and the ID2 debut a couple of weeks prior boosting the SEA interest

Three things
1) This chart shows Youtube giving a global live viewer debuff starting between December 2020 and January 2021. Suisei didn't recline, it was Susan debuffing everybody
2) Source for the data is Holostats. I cobbled together a script to dl all data they had on Suisei, I can adapt it to any girl now.
>NOW I HAVE A MACHINE GUN! HO HO HO
3) Any girl you guys want to be looked at with the same methodology next?
4) If you recognize the chart and analysis style SHUSH!

surely there's millions of people out there who barely even know of vtubers as a concept, so holo or niji inclining should somewhat lift the other companies as well. they're competitors, but it's not like they're playing a zero sum game yet

They're not and "tribalism" is a chan meme. As you said, many (if not most) people don't even know "vtuber company" is a thing, they start knowing Eekum Bokum girl or Dancing Duck meme girl and only a few filter down enough to learn about the whole ensemble, let alone to know there are multiple companies supposedly competing for the same market.

Man this is fucked, but I'm curious to see what Lulu's numbers for her upcoming streams are leading to her graduation. She was actually kinda close to Coco's average viewership (for games), so I wonder if we'll see some 20-30k+ streams from her in the next week despite her lower subcount.

Something that's always interested me about Niji's numbers is how high their engagement on twitter is relative to Holo's despite MUCH lower twitter follower count.

Just compare Lulu's graduation tweet's Likes with Coco's graduation tweet's Likes.
https://twitter.com/lulu_suzuhara/status/1408063752755286025
https://twitter.com/kiryucoco/status/1402474505235169281

As of this moment, Lulu is at 113k likes in 8 hours, while Coco's stopped at 163k. Lulu has 278k followers, so unless half of her followers liked this tweet or there's a lot of Niji tourists who liked it but didn't sub. I feel like Lulu's graduation tweet will probably stop at around 140k after 24 hours, which is insane that it's only 23k behind Coco's despite having 500k less twitter followers.
Another one that comes to mind is Minato's 3D debut tweet which had 77k likes, which is more than Korone's 1 mil celebration tweet despite Korone having 500k more followers.
Has anyone seen similar anomalies with NijiJP's twitter numbers?

>> No.5596145

>>5595649
Fair enough but yeah it's a huge buff for Jap viewers, especially those in their 20s and 30s (75% of her audience according to the survey she did) who played it as a kid and are now nostalgic for it. Famitsu readers voted it as the best game of all time btw, that's how much they love it.

>> No.5596318

>>5596053
Until her break back in winter, Lulu was the most consistent Niji member viewer wise.
Just like Watame, every day, every stream 10k viewers always.
One thing I've seen is that JP watchers, especially from Nijisanji don't do the "like, comment, subscribe, retweet thing" that EN viewers have been conditioned to do, but they do gather for events. So there will probably be a lot of people all across the Nijisanji fanbase in Lulu's next few streams.

>> No.5596676

>>5596053
I don't really get the point of "liking" a graduation announcement tweet. Why would someone who is a fan do that? I could see antis perhaps.

>> No.5596776

>>5596053
Also forgot to add that within 8 hours,Lulu's tweet has
54.9k retweets, 3245 quote tweets, 115.2k likes
Coco's tweet had:
43.8k retweets, 2217 quote tweets, and 163k likes

So more way more people have retweeted and quote tweeted Lulu's graduation tweet in much shorter time despite her having 500k less twitter followers than Coco.

Some explanations I can think of are:
- a lot of NijiJP's fanbase only care about big events like 3D debuts or graduations and not daily livestreams
- EOP Holofans don't quote-tweet, retweet, or like JP tweets since they can't read them, but follow anyways

>>5596318
I see. Lulu's stream won't be archived on her channel either so there's an added feeling of finality to it, which may lead to a bigger graduation buff.

>>5596676
Kinda morbid, but the feeling is like paying your respects I guess. Happens a lot with public figures who die too. I think Chadwick Boseman's death tweet is the most liked tweet on twitter.

>It's 'tourists', people who like Lulu but don't follow her. Same with Fuwa. Everyone wants to see a spectacle but they don't care enough about the daily happenings or streams so they won't follow.
Ya I think so too. There's actually a really big difference in fanbase culture for Holo and Niji. Holofans take the like/subscribe/comment thing to the extreme with the youtube videos, while Nijifans don't seem to care for regular streams. Definitely helps Holos a lot for the youtube algo.
Quick Example: I took the most recent non-hype Roboco stream and Kuzuha's latest Apex stream
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0fY08nlwg4 9.8k likes (lol I don't even think 9k people watched the livestream)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPFgGuqlCP4 7.4k likes
Somehow Roboco, one of the more unpopular holos, has more likes on her stream VOD than Kuzuha, the most popular Niji, despite Kuzuha having like literally 20k more live viewers than Roboco for that stream.

When Coco announced her graduation, she got 200k+ subs in a week and 100k twitter followers. Lulu has gotten 4k new subs so far, despite her graduation tweet getting insane engagement levels for her size. The "tourist" hypothesis seems more and more likely.

Anon, Gura's game selection is sus af if she wants to numberfag. If she wanted to get 30k streams consistently, she'll just spam rhythm games, minecraft, FOTM horror games like Night Delivery, and drop games once they do poorly like DMC3. I don't think Gura is really as much as a trendchaser as most of HoloJP. Her gaming mechanics are actually pretty awful so when she streams games that require some like MH or FPS shooters, it's actually a debuff because the gameplay is kinda unwatchably bad.

Wouldn't it be consistent for both NijiJP and HoloJP if JP likes to use twitter a lot? If they like using twitter, why aren't they following Niji livers? They have lower followers counts across the board compared to Holos.
Even if we assume a lot of holoJP's followers are EOP who just follow, you would assume a 1 mil sub celebration post from an 800k following to get more attention than a 3D debut tweet from a 330k following right?

Also, HoloEN gets way more engagement than HoloJP too. Ame and Gura shitposts and Ina's art posts doing really good numbers.

They don't check in to daily stream or even subscribe to many of the Niji's, but they show up when it's important events like 3D debuts and graduations and drop mad cash (for guys). I made some posts in this thread earlier comparing the twitter reactions to Lulu and Coco's graduation tweets and Lulu is on track to actually overtake Coco in Twitter likes too (136k rn VS Coco's 163k), despite having a much smaller follower base.
I don't anyone in their right mind will say Lulu is more important than Coco in terms of vtuber innovation, but the Niji fans who don't normally do much are coming out in droves.

Amamiya had her 3D debut recently and peaked at 72k so 70k is a solid prediction Imo. Tomoe usually doesn't get many live viewers (1 to 2k) for her streams so I don't think she'll be getting niji Male numbers in viewers and superchats.

This.
A Nijisanji tweet can get close to 100k likes but get less than 50 comments. Where do all these likes come from? The topic feature on twitter is pretty aggressive when it comes to recommending tweets. I don't even follow niji but they keep showing up on my timeline. Niji tourists are real.

December is the month of:
>YouTube "bug" (which turned out to be an anti-bot "feature")
>Hololive 2nd FES: Beyond the Stage
>Holos streaming less overall

Not sure what happened on the Niji side, but it could have been due to the females having international audience on chat that triggered the anti-bot or simply they were behaving similar to the Holos.

Okay, this is probably one of the dumbest and most inaccurate ways to predict, but I found the 4 most recent Niji 3D announcement posts on twitter and I will try to use the previous 2's data to predict the 2 upcoming ones. Normally I would say NijiJP fans only like tweets but don't show up to streams, but this is a big event so tourists will check it out.

Amamiya: 19.1k RT, 1308 QT, 46.3k Likes / 72.5k peak viewers SC:
¥2,854,680
Fuwa Minato: 23.3k RT, 1939 QT, 48.2 Likes / 143k peak viewers SC: ¥16,381,963
Tomoe: 14.9 RT, 1014 QT, 37k Likes
Ibrahim: 24.1k RT (for now), 2281 QT (for now), 44.5k (for now)
(It's literally only been 1 hour since announcement, what the fuck are these numbers bro)

So uh this wasn't very useful... maybe around 70k for Tomoe and 150k+ for Ibrahim. Can't predict superchats.
