Different anon here but Polka did fine, honestly it doesn't feel like a mix problem persay, but more that the composition of the song is just weak in general. A friend linked me the original after I stated this elsewhere and the original has the same problem of the composition just kind of blends together with very little dynamics.

Not as good as Undercover or Vampire but all of Polka's covers are still some of the best in Hololive. The laugh she does at 2:32 should have been the standard for all of them in the song. That one sounds very unhinged and Polka-like, the rest sound very reserved. This would actually sound better if she was just doing a karaoke version of it, she goes absolutely crazy during her karaoke streams.

The cover is fine, it's just that some of the the instrumentation in the background and the singing is kind of overlapping with each other in a narrow band of frequencies. Also the base is very synthetic, the distortion is the rubbery kind.

If your listening to this song on pedestrian audio hardware all the instruments and singing will kind of blend together and that is what the other anon is complaining about. But I listen to it on my audiophile setup and I can hear everything clearly since my equipment has good separation between frequencies. The base is kind of meh and distorted so your going to have to crank it up to get the that boom effect from it instead. Just remember, Youtube kun's limited 320 kbps max audio output is partly to blame, it is never going to do justice for these songs. I wish Polka would release a audio CD or lostless versions of these songs so we can hear it as she actually hears it in the studio.

Verdict
If you have plebian audio equipment your not going to have to really crank the volume to get it to sound good. Just be careful not to damage your ears.
If on audiophile equipment then it sounds pretty good, but only the lostless version can really do it justice IMO.

It all depends on time of day the collab is done at. Remember, Polka has a much higher percentage of kagai niki audience then the other JP Holos. So her audience base can't be easily concentrated in any one time frame. Look at her comments section, the top comments are always in English. 30%-50% of her members are probably not Japanese even though she has more of them than other holos with similar exposure.

Plus add the fact that all such streams are never announced well ahead of time means lots of her audience is not planning to be watching when she is streaming.

The mixing is mostly good in my opinion. The song is great, and Polka did a pretty great job with it. I hate to say it, but the issues I had were largely with her performance. Her vocals were a bit too clean where the performance would benefit from some intentional roughness, and her dynamics were samey through the entire song, which deflated it at points and doesn't quite fit with the unpredictability you'd expect from "kicking and spitting on me when I'm down so I've completely lost my marbles" energy it is going for. It's particularly noticeable from 2:10 until the end when it goes from a brief lament to a sudden resolution of essentially "fuck it, I've got nothing to lose so you'll be sure to at least remember my name":

Syudou's vocals were also a little lacking in the variation department, but he did better with restraining the energy there so the 'explosive laughter' and sudden transition was more energized, and there's more punch and buildup to the final nosedive into madness.
