Cold iron is simply hand-forged mostly pure iron. So you actually don't want machinery for it, because then it's not cold iron. You also can't cast it, produce it on a mass-scale, or anything else like that.

As for throwing knives, that's Dexterity + Athletics – Defence, successes as aggravated damage. The Hook has 6 Defence though, and no body has a Dex+Ath dice pool 6+ so that means they'd all be rolling chance die for that attack. Which means only a 10 counts as a success, and a 1 counts as a dramatic failure. So they'll do 1 agg for every 10 throws on average, and as cold iron is a fraility it does bypass armor so that's something. But it does mean they need to lob like 170 knives at the thing. They're also get like 17 dramatic failures too, and depending on how Calli wants to rules those things they might end up killing each other before the Hook. although with 170 turns of knife throwing the Hook will slaughter them all anyway.

Regular iron is bad for fae creatures too, it's just not a agg damage dealing frailty that bypasses armour. But what regular iron ignores is fae-born defences and their magic and defences. So if they invoke a Contract to gain more armour or defence an iron weapon ignores those bonuses. Regular iron is more conceptual than chemical, steel might be mostly iron but it's conceptually steel. The fae are creatures of story and myth, not of science.

Yes, although brass knuckles deal Lethal in 2e anyway, that's pretty much their purpose. Watoto would get fucking ruined in melee combat all the same. He'd be rolling a chance die just like everyone else, but with the added danger of being in range of the dude with a hook hand rolling 15 dice.

Oh, I forgot to convert a couple of things to 2e here. In 2e he'd have 9 Defence. Because you add Athletics to the lowest of your Dex/Wits. Not like it matters, it's still a chance die, but it makes it much harder to hit him. It makes him easier to hit in most other scenarios though as he had 4/4 armour. In 1e armor works a lot different as well, although it's the same for our purposes of cold iron vs the Hook. In 1e armour works as a dice penalty to hit, so an effective 10 Defence, additionally anything bulletproof downgrades all Firearms damage from Lethal to Bashing. In 2e armour isn't a penalty at all, it just modifies damage. General armour removes 1 damage you'd take for each point you have, starting with the highest severity, while ballistic armour downgrades 1 Lethal damage from a Firearms attack to Bashing for each point you have. If you have both, ballistic is applied first. You always take at least 1 point of Bashing damage if the attack was dealing Lethal or Aggravated though. The Hook's stats would likely change a little if he was in 2e, but he'd still be basically impossible to take down in this scenario all the same.

So the reason the Hook is immune to firearms is because he's got bulletproof armour, which downgrades all Firearms damage to Bashing, and Immortal Flesh makes him ignores all mundane sources of Bashing. It'd be the same against a crossbow too, if the crossbow didn't have cold iron bolts. Bulletproof isn't just "bullets don't work" it's Firearms attacks do less damage, and crossbows are counted as Firearms attacks.

That's what I've been telling people. I'm going to paste in a small bit of rules, and then a reference table for all the various abilities. It's just easier than writing the same thing out in my own words. All the abilities have to be represented in your form somehow, you can't have a rivet gun for an arm and just have two normal arms. Outside of that you've got free rein to make your demon form look how you like.

Modifications are small subroutines that affect the demon’s ability to perform a task, such as a bonus to a roll with an Attribute or a Skill bonus. Look the Hook is way, way beyond the capacity of even 4 very smart newbie hunters. This is like talking about what tricks a random guy who works at Subway could use to take on Conor Mcgregor in the ring, or how to better fight Freddy Kreuger in mêlée. It didn't come up but the Hook actually has a variant of life steal on his weapon. The Hook might as well be Caine: he's basically a plot device, not an enemy to be overcome. The crew would have a better chance of crafting something clever to drop a building on him, or have a tanker truck explode on him, or hit him with a fertilizer bomb with a bunch of cold iron nails packed in them.

I think having a light hand for the first season is reasonable and easy to make plausible: for big fights have a bunch of more powerful allies and redshirts around. Kiara's was the first, and altought rules were scuffed, it was kino enough to shut up resident antiorange and antimori fags for few hours. Also, since Kiara had expiriance it was good at technical level, plus filled with memorable moments.

TheVshoujo campaigns get derailed too much by their chattering, they're as you may imagine way more lewd and profane, so if you enjoy their content you'll probably love their roleplaying as well. My only issues with their Death and Debts series was Melody not giving a fuck about learning the game at all, even by episode 9 she didn't even know what the fuck her character was capable of doing or how to use basic functions on maptools, she also got mad in one episode and literally started playing roblox, Mouse and Zentreya slowed down the progression quite a bit as well, with Mouse going afk for medicines and Zen taking forever to type her shit and the DM ignoring her sometimes.

The current campaign with Nyanners, Vei, Froot, Haruka and Snuffy is way better in my opinion, they're actually roleplaying their characters while keeping the kinky vibes and dick jokes to a decent level and they seem to actually know what their characters are capable of doing to a degree.

Mori's campaign has been good so far, but It's hard to compare, because this is a side fun thing for her, and she is always busy doing a bunch of crap, Arcadum is a professional Dungeon Master and makes his living basically doing DM stuff, he has a bunch of people helping him create art/music assets and whatever else is needed. With that being said I'm surprised by the memorable moments on this intro missions, if they can keep them happening without overlapping or shadowing each other by actually playing together and maybe having meetings outside of the game streams it's gonna be great.

It's more accurate to say Arcadum delegates 99.9% of the work and only shows up to be the GM and do funny voices. That's why he never does tech checks and is constantly surprised by "a clearly superior VTT" not working the way it should. He also baits for fanart like a motherfucker. Liam O'Brien could take notes it's so bad.

By contrast, you have Mori's game. She's doing it all herself and isn't out baiting for clicks/art/etc. She's using a stable VTT that will only get better once she figures out the macro things. It's clearly a passion project for her and not a cash grab/clout chaser thing like with Arcadum and D&D.

There's a world of difference between commissioning backgrounds/taking fan BGMs and what Arcadum does. Everything from character macros, to token art, to weebshit intros/outros, to map creation, to BGM, to running his Discord, to pretty much any aspect that isn't him breaking another chair with his fat ass is all done by someone else. It's cold, and professional if only because of the production value behind it. But at the end of the day he's still the same Adventurer's League DM that runs the same stories with the same tropes with the same style of characters over and over and over. Mori's not doing any of that. It's all original save for the BGs and BGMs. There's actual passion behind it. She could have easily clout/number-chased and ran D&D instead. But she didn't. By far, running Hunter (or a pure Mortals) is one of the best possible ways to introduce someone to the World of Darkness.

Fun fact about Ms. Thermal though, it's not just her true form that's bird-like. She actually has a hawk as a Cover, because Demons don't need to take human forms.

Actually, that might be relevant to the Chronicle too. Demons can take pretty much anything as a cover. Animals, plants, inanimate objects, even whole buildings. They don't do this often, it's really risky for a demon for a variety of reasons. Angels do it pretty often though. When the God-Machine commands, at least. Demons can also take on supernatural beings as Covers if they make Pacts with them, but their Cover is as human as possible which means you don't get their powers and it becomes very hard to integrate that Cover back from where it came from.

defense is the lowest of wits or dexterity + athletics. So you would have to put 4 points into each wits and dex and then put 5 points into athletics for a total of 9 defense. Some equipment can also increase defense further.

Not generally a good idea as it sucks up a lot of attribute points and defense doesn't do shit when attacked by ranged weapons like guns. (Have to have armor for guns).
