Also I have an observation about 1.6. I noticed my generation times gradually increasing on 1.6 until it was taking me 2 minutes to upscale an output which was unheard for me. I changed my webui to 1.4 and my webui resumed its normal speed. I reverted to 1.6 on tonight and found my gens were just as fast as they were when I first upgraded to 1.6.

So TL;DR: If you notice you gen speeds slow down on 1.6, revert to an older checkpoint for a time.

Follow the NAI speedrun link in the OP, Im not using linux but it should still work the same, don't quote me on that.

That would install the webui, do the Asuka test.
Once one manage to do that, I reccommend just sticking to one model, you can use one in the OP recipe mix that already has HLL lora mixed into it. after a couple of days, you can then look at the different models on Civitai, see what others are using, do the XYZ plot tests, start mixing models and testing them, start using the other extensions.
Just take the first step and get started, detail your progress here and Im sure some anons here would be willing to nudge you in the right direction

I would say it depends on the lora/ character as well, some characters clothes are so baked into their name that it takes alot of negatives to get them naked.

SDXL is good at composition and coherence, and there are a few decent anime finetunes now, but the limitation is that we can't use it for most /vtai/ purposes directly because no LoRA/similar stuff.

However, you can utilise SDXL's composition prowess indirectly, using canny or similar pre-processors combined with controlnet_lineart_anime

After messing around for awhile I finally started getting decent results with sporty Pekora. I'm using hll-5c with hll-5c-lora, is there a more reliable model? This is definitely better than any other AI thing I've ever done, but it seems a bit messy compared to the results itt. Some takeaways I've found: all the sliders make a huge difference, sample method makes a huge difference, subject matter makes a difference, hands are menace. Would love tips on technique.

I can't get my seed and prompt to save properly in the filename, so here is what I used:

If you're using the hll-5c model you don't need to use the hll-5c lora as well. They're the same thing essentially. In fact, you really shouldn't be using hll-5c as your main model, it's for, merging into a different one. Go on Civitai, find a model with a style you like and just use the lora on that. Hll is a model trained on a dataset of just Vtubers so it's not a good model on it's own, you add it to a model whose art-style you like so you can easily get access to a bunch of Vtubers without searching around for LoRAs. the hll5 lora is basically just the essence of the hll5 model distilled into a lora. While there can be value in using specific vtuber loras along with hll models to get more exact about their designs (especially clothes) If you use the hll model and lora together it's just doubling up on basically the same stuff

Any way to improve generations on lower tier PCs? Colab is fucking dead so I'm trying generation on my lower tier PC and A111 honestly runs like dogshit at 1 minute per picture.
I tried ComfyUI too which gets me there in half the time at 38 seconds but a lot of posters seem unreasonably angry that this UI even exists because they hate the guy that made it.

Any help or protips? I just want to gen some cute girls.

I want to gen cute girls and the tool I use to get there is of non-importance. Saying you're a ComfyUI user really feels like saying Taiwan is a country at this point with how mad people get over it.
I was using A111 on colab because I don't particularly like Comfy's UI given that it's not comfy at all and A111 has a far better UI but it turns out A111 kinda sucks ass on lowvram PCs which leaves Comfy as the sole solution to gen.

Kaggle seems like the worst because it does not allow NSFW and it monitors everything you do. Kaggle sends your images to their servers, checks to see if it's against the rules then bans you if it is.
Paperspace seems like the best solution but they want phone verification and it's harder to set up than colab. It has a "Free" plan but free GPUs get snatched up really quickly and free plan only gives 5gb of space which is ass.
Colab is a medium between both with them hating your guts if you try to gen for free but their paid plan only gives you 50~ hrs of genning per $10 unlike paperspace's unlimited genning time a month assuming there's availability of a free-pro GPU.

Nocrypt seems to be developing paperspace solutions now that colab's kinda dead but it'll probably be a while and paid.

Yeah, I actually did my research. I'm literally just trying to gen cutes since I'm locked to a shitty laptop at the present time but the mere mention of Comfy seems to trigger a fight or flight response from certain posters which makes discussion kinda impossible.

Nocrypt's discord seems to insist that paperspace is the best option and faster than colab but you have to be real careful because tunneling is against their TOS so no ngrok at all or any sort of tunneling. It also seems that this crackdown was because of RVC, google just took the chance to shit on stable diffusion while they were on it and RVC might face further restrictions in the future too.

If there's nothing that can be done to improve or optimize low-spec gens then I guess I'll just stick to using ComfyUI until a solution presents itself or until A111 adds some optimizations for lower spec machines.
