Man, I guess the whole Rushia fiasco left a bad taste in everyone's mouths. I understand the sentiment but it makes it difficult to reintroduce her into the Holocalypse rewrite. I know I said I wouldn't retcon anything major, but it's hard to write her as I did back then. In fact her termination was one of the leading factors that made me lose motivation for the series as a whole.
Imagining an alternate timeline where she had better opsec or just shut the fuck up is painful.

I'm of the opinion that she should be removed entirely. Remembering her as a tribute is all well and good, but she doesn't exist anymore - it's confusing to new blood and pointless while she still streams using the exact same character under two different names. You could make the argument that said characters aren't Hololive in a series called "HOLOcalypse" but if that's the case, there's no point to adding Rushia since she's not Hololive either.

Basically, she's gone and you need to move on too. IIRC she wasn't plot critical so you can easily replace/remove her.

I think if you liked who she was and what she brought to your story, I'd just keep her. Though I can see how a termination might be a bit of a different beast from a normal graduation. Enough time has passed by now that I don't feel particularly attached to keeping Rushia in the story. I wouldn't have been able to say this a year ago, but I'd be ok with a Holocalypse without Rushia. If she does get removed the girl (or girls, perhaps?) who will come in to replace her just need a lot of charisma to fill the gap. It still wouldn't feel great, I do have a plan for her and it's a sweet one.

It's a pretty extensive rewrite. Aside from following the basic narrative skeleton of the original, everything else will be changed. Taking Rushia out would be pretty simple to do since I'm going to be building the whole thing back up from the ground. What's holding me back from doing that is I still want readers who read the original to be able to pick up the new chapter (when it eventually comes out) and already have the required knowledge. If I retcon Rushia from the remake, people who read the original will then be required to read the rewrite. That and it would feel a little wrong to unperson her.
I guess it all depends on how much I'm willing to change the story. If I do make a major retcon and the rewrite becomes required knowledge, I might be tempted to change a couple of other things to enhance the story as well.
Coco's here to stay, though. I have big plans for her.

From there, they've been 'unpersoned' by Cover, Anemachi is an actress/Cover employee, whatever else. Shit, maybe 'Anemachi' isn't even something original Suisei had; Cover just decided it'd be better for "Suisei" to have a sister figure to make her more relatable to viewers

Essentially, our Suisei has Old!Suisei's face, and Cover copied it and put a cuter version on New!Suisei's face. They then changed Old!Suisei's face to something completely different to get rid of the evidence.
It's also a way to leave it ambiguous as to whether or not this person is actually Suisei in the first place, or just some random, mentally ill FemAnon. Shit, there could even be a plotpoint where Our!Suisei is gaslit into thinking that.

Have her escape some back alley Cover Corp medical operation just before she gets "liquidated" or some such. The point is she has to be out there without her face, and someone else is wearing hers.
And yeah, it's weird as fuck how she gets so many fic ideas. But hey, I'm not complaining

This is starting to feel like some next level alt!Suisei thing but without the need for parallel universe body swapping. I could see the story being some kind of character study fic, though I'm not really sure how you'd do that without some very tortured metaphors given the whole identity stealing thing kind of necessitates a shift in context since you can't really present it like it's indie Suisei vs corp Suisei.
I think it's because Suisei is grounded by her indie origins. Which makes her pretty fit for stories set in modern settings.

I think it can be treated as character study. Our!Suisei has been working so hard, so much, only for it to be stolen wholesale from her - face, name, shine. Those very same people could even want her dead. So how the hell is she going to reclaim what was hers?
Maybe after a few years, she's finally snaked her way into Cover Corp. Having a nobody's face has its advantages, after all. Have her be the janitress or something, anything really. As long as she's within striking distance of New!Suisei.
Thing is, New!Suisei... isn't all that bad of a person either. You've gained her trust, and she talks big dreams, working hard, and now she finally has her moment to shine. That last bit, oh, that last bit really gets you. But, can you really do something bad to her?
Another way to deal with it is to make it a psychological thriller, a Perfect Blue sort of thing. Have Our!Suisei slowly question whether or not she was actually Suisei at all, or just some derranged fan who's gotten into their head that SHE'S Suisei... How this pans out is up to whoever writes it
A third way is to treat it like some kind of grand conspiracy. (You) are a hard-bitten detective investigating Cover Corp and allegations of body-snatching. You come across this woman who claims the corporation stole her face. Though there's little credibility to her story, she's your only lead. You'll have to trust her and discover the truth
There's a lot of ways a writer can tackle the concept; these are just the ideas I can spitball at the moment

As someone who attempted to write her, you can do her as this bubbly, quirky girl who has a bit of a wild, mischievous, almost yabe side to her. Her Oblivion streams are recommended, as well as the Outer Wilds streams.
If you want to write her a bit more seriously, though, she's a prickly, socially insecure wallflower and outcast who's too quick-tempered for her own good. She'll snap at most perceived slights and will probably stay away from most social engagements unless she particularly likes you or has to be there. If handled well, she can make for a really great Byronic hero.

Yeesh. It recognizes the port is occupied but isn't getting any juice? That's annoying. Since it knows there's a charger in there, it's probably not the jack - it could be the adapter itself. Same adapter you've always used, right? Might be a silly question, but the wattage on your adapter is powerful enough for your laptop, right? You want 65W+. Does your laptop support USB-C charging? It could also be a short in your adapter cable preventing the charge, but that's a cunt to diagnose since the results aren't immediate. I don't suppose you've got any other power bricks lying around?

Last and probably the least, the battery might need to drain before it'll accept any more charge. This has happened to me exactly once, but basically the Mac I was troubleshooting only started charging again after it drained itself dry. Not a fucking clue why.
