I think this is it in most cases. People have an ideal that they want to imagine, and this can immediately and permanently break it. This goes exponentially more for yumes. Also, I've gotten the impression that Nips seem to care a lot more about skin tone variation within their own people, probably for historic reasons. I always found it weird how much he talked about Cover setting them all together as Tempus to guilt trip Tempura into buying merch from everyone instead of only supporting their oshi, and I do think Magni wanted more individuality instead of pushing unity. He never hid his discontentment at how fast they pushed new members too.

I agree, but I don't think he was ever anti-unity. In fact, the unity seemed to be his favorite thing about Tempus. But I think that in-between his windows of being very emotionally needy he also has the Sigma Male Grindset genes, for better and worse. I'm not naming names, but you can't always bring certain personality types along on that ride, or you'll wind up hurting the both of you. He was probably right to want the ability to go it alone sometimes, so long as those instanceswere ultimately for a benefit, or at least neutral, to Tempus as a whole.
