Because that kanji is not exactly common despite not being rare either. More often than not 喋る is written in hiragana. You should know it since it’s fairly used in literature but it’s still a not so common kanji in daily life.

Anecdata, but I've seen at least 2 Japanese people I follow on Twitter learn English because of Holo EN
One of them used to be a Sanbakafag but started watching HoloEN and is now a Kaela fan (I don't know the fanbase name)
https://twitter.com/mitsumine323
Then another one who didn't like vtubers at first and even unfollowed me for being a vtuberfag, now studies English and watches Niji EN for some reason

言う is simply to say aloud. Not a conversation or reply expected.
話す is to talk. Having a conversation, even if the other part is not actively replying. Having a set of topics to discuss about.
喋る(しゃべる) is to chat (verbal). Having a conversation but more relaxed, without a particular theme.

Why do japs suck so badly at English pronunciation?
I mean, I'm also an ESL, and my native language has different letter pronunciation rules compared to English, but when I speak English I try to pronounce words as intended in English language, not try to apply my native language pronunciation rules.
Whereas so many japs go "Ai lavu hamubargeru and hotodogu!" and praise each other for perfect English. Can't they hear the stark difference between proper English pronunciation and whatever they are pronouncing? Is the oral posture for Japanese language so different that it becomes too hard to break these habits when it comes to learning other languages?

They really can't.They are extremely isolated from actual English in their daily lives and get almost no practice exposure speaking it with native speakers. To become fluent in another language you either need to be exposed to it everyday or make a great personal effort to practice it on a daily basis and for them they're already worked to the bone in their daily lives so they have neither the incentive or the time to spend learning English

Their phonetic system is too different from the english one.
Japanese is fully structured around moras (like syllables) where the first sound is a consonant and the second one a vowel. With a few exceptions.
Also, they have JUST five vowels (written and spoken) where english has a LOT of spoken vowel variations depending the surrounding consonants.
Car /kɑː(r)/
Cat /kæt/
Caw /kɔː/
They are wired that way and there's no easy way around.
If you try to say "I AM", that AM has to be converted to A-Mu with a soft u. It's always consonant+vowel, not the other way around.

>They really can't.They are extremely isolated from actual English in their daily lives and get almost no practice exposure speaking it with native speakers.
The only time I heard someone speaking English was some Peruvian or Arab idk in front of me and my brother who lived with his chink wife in Hong Kong back then. And even I have better pronunciation than some JP chuubas who have constant exposure to EN chuubas. Just learn alphabet, basic rules and start watching English/American movies with subs, don't know the word? Google it.
I started learning English by watching videos of Reckful and Soda on YouTube. Although I knew basic rules because of School and College.
