Yes, there is a new setting in A1111 hidden under Settings->img2img called "Extra noise multiplier for img2img and hires fix"
The biggest gripe with esrgan upscalers (4x-AnimeSharp/UltraSharp) vs latent was that the esrgan upscaler made the image too plain and instead of adding new details it just averaged everything.
With this new setting, the esrgan becomes a sort of hybrid of gan and latent at the same time.
So with 4x-AnimeSharp set at 0.4, you can add noise multiplier at 0.2 and it will add a tone of detail.
You can go with lower numbers if you don't want the base image to change that much but the multiplier has to be lower than the hires denoising.

Usually you want to follow a pattern of:
1girl, name, hololive english (or other source), other tags
If you want nsfw, put that at the front:
nsfw, 1girl, takanashi kiara, hololive english, nude
If you want a guy or penises, add 1boy (2boy etc.) in front of 1girl:
nsfw, 1boy, 1girl, watson amelia, hololive english, nude, penis, fellatio
You can also put artist names or artist:artist name in the prompt. Putting things at the front will be stronger, so it's fine to break the format too. You can also try adding stuff like "very aesthetic" and "amazing quality" or "year 2023".

Also, you can just import any NAI image from this thread into NAI to look at the prompt and settings.

I haven't used latent upscalers in the past 6 months and already have i2i set to use 4x as upscaler.
It's not meant for latent upscalers as they already have a lot of noise added in which is why they keep exploding, they don't need more of it.
I just added img2img_extra_noise to Settings->User Interface-> Options in main UI txt2img and the setting is now sitting at the very bottom of the text2img page.
