Say you work for a tech company that isn't a total bag of dicks, and when they bid for a project they acknowledge that in order to deliver a high quality product, they need to afford their delivery teams the capacity to properly vet their work. They're going to build into the cost of the project the cost of doing those things so that if they do a really good job, the amount of effort to reuse and extend the technology they've delivered it will be more efficient to do so. The customer will get better rates because the delivery team was afforded the time to do things right (assuming the client is a bag of dicks and keeps trying to change things outside scope or you're inheriting a dumpster fire from someone else).

But for Vedal, as a streamer, you always have to be finding new ways to keep your audience engaged. And we all love the chill streams where we can chat with Neuro and Evil, but if that's all she ever did, or all she ever did was struggle at minecraft, or all she ever did was play Osu, people would get bored and go away. It is highly probable that retention would plummet if he took markedly longer to implement new features the right way. But people are tempered to the occasional scuff, and people are tolerant of current delays to roll out new things, and while it will probably cause him more grief in the long run in terms of efficiency, its probably the right path to making sure people continue to be engaged with new things. A shit way to develop a project in other situations but when you're a streamer, I think its hard to judge the process so long as people continue to accept the results as well as they do now.

No, what I think the other AI Vtubers are missing is a strong enough community. Lore, fan art, fan project, their own general, colabs with other Vtubers. It really doesn't help that most people look down on other AI projects.
But also what I call "mass delusion". Big enough groups have a tendency to suck in more people like a black hole, and allow people to "be themselves" and blend in with the background energy of the large fanbase. No one likes breaking the ice. But if there are 100s or 1000s of people already there, there isn't as much attention on "you" and what you say. So you engage more freely. And that creates more engagement and eventually leads to culture as I described above.
