Someone in the last thread asked for a clip of Fubuki talking about rushia during the 4th fes watchalong so here it is.

Pretty short clip and she mentions her briefly but it still shows her love for the other members, she even acknowledged some might consider it a "taboo" topic, though I always thought mentioning prior talents being taboo was stupid. It was basically an emotional outburst, but nonetheless shows her grief with situations like these.

You shouldn't go meta level and criticize the company but it should be okay to talk about the chuuba itself on the chuuba level (not the person and their business relations).
Imo it shouldn't be a problem to mention a terminated or graduated chuuba. Of course you cannot rant or shittalk them but this also isn't possible when the chuuber is active. The short stream yesterday was absolutely fine. Just telling how much they'll miss Mel and they'll go forward without her.
Just don't say Taiwan or "I hate the Chink government" and you're good to go.

Yeah, also not sure why they can't, or seem not to be able to, mention prior talents new identities. To be fair, this doesn't seem like a hololive issue individually, both kson and nazuna haven't mentioned hololive talents either from what I'm aware, maybe it's like a secret agreement not to go into that territory. Always seemed weird to me, personally I wouldn't mind seeing say fubuki collab with kson, cause I mean we all know who it is it's not that much different than before. Either way, bit of a different issue, it's the people that try and make the naming of previous talents taboo that I really dislike, they shouldn't just vanish because they're no longer there. Even on good terms like graduation you don't see hololive as a company really acknowledge them anymore either and it's a bit strange, but as long as the talents are able to mention them I'm fine with it. For obvious reasons you cannot say "Hey X was previously Rushia!" That's what you sign to when you are a chuuba: Once your puppet is gone, you're gone too. Even though people found Pikamee's new identity rather quick. I haven't followed it but I bet she never said anything about VOMS and avoids that topic and any relations to them to avoid any (personal/role) conflict.
Collaborations across agencies and indies are an absolute mystery. Of course Hololive dances around these collabs as they bear risks to lose their partner's attention to another agency (although the competition isn't very strong in terms of advertising value). I don't understand under which terms they allow external collabs. I can understand Cover avoids agencies like Phase Connect due to their different focus and lax guidelines regarding IRL content. It feels like they are very careful when they leave their territory like occurrences on conventions etc. Self contained universe.

Is this an EN thing? Because I'm not really sure what you are talking about, the Japanese members collab with people from the outside all the time. Even if you discount the VCR bullshit, you still have people collabing with Nijisanji on a regular basis, most APEX streams involve outside agencies such as Vspo and even Fubuki did stuff with Patra, Himehina and Ngo and these two whose names I can't remember from her FF14 housing showcase in recent memory, not to mention all the people she called during her big anniversary totsu.

Really depends. It seems that I'm in my Hololive zone with my picks. I know Matsuri or La+ often play with others. But it doesn't apply to Fubuki and Gamers. Without further thinking I can only tell that Fubuki was part of several TRPGs. But everything else was more like a one time thing like Korone an Debi. Virtualizer with Himehina happened years ago when Hololive was much smaller. The anniversary totsu seemed to be another special event where they allowed it again. On this matter Cover walks a good line between exclusivity and freedom for relationships.
If rrats are true, we won't see GTA 5 in future. It was also the source of some yab.

I mean if we're talking about collabs fubuki isn't exactly too common to do them with most hololive members either. I don't think I can count on my fingers the members she has only collabed with once one-on-one, some members she hasn't collabed with at all, unless you're counting hololive channel collabs or big collabs. That being said, Fubuki is definitely one of the most pro unity members there are, she's very familiar with the vtuber space and often acknowledges and tweets to others chuubas of different corps and such. Her only call in stream is the reverse call in and that was entirely outside of hololive too, though you already mentioned that. Though she's been better at it last year, I just don't think one-on-one collabs are her forte both in or out of hololive, that being said she has still definitely done stuff outside of the hololive space even after 2018/2019. Even if there not people she knows directly she still knows a lot of other vtubers.

I'm very sure, Fubuki knows a lot more about the industry than even we think. Many contacts and so on. But it's fine to just talk privately. No need to drag it into public. I'm fine with the Bakatare (Circus) collabs. That's the first when I think about Fubuki's collab partners.
But it seems that I'm really in a hole where I barely notice the outside Holo collabs. But what do I watch? FPS and GTA seem to be the games for all kinds of collabs. While games like Monster Hunter or Splatoon remain Hololive internal collabs.

If I remember correctly, their rrat logic was "Fubuki is a high-ranking member of Holo/has lots of shares or something similar -> She made THIS [ultra rrat] administrative error/tax evasion scheme and is ruining Hololive!! -> Graduate her!". I've seen people trying this shit with other old members like Miko and to a lesser extent, Sora. It's good that these rumors never sticks to them for whatever reason. While she may have some negotiation leverage as a senior member and as someone who also often does some sort of PR work for holo, she is not much different from any other holomen.

Don't be so hard with yourself, friend. Everyone has their own weakness and strengths. Love my Friend, but is she really that strong...? There are times where we have to say or do things because nobody else is up to do it. It sounds like that old meme but sometimes you just have to do it. In the case of our Friend, she got spearheaded into being the leader of Gen 1, I believe she's just meeting the expectations of others and always trying to spin the situation around with happy/fun things. Truly admirable. I'm sad that her Micomet project could be so much better at another time...but it is what it is. Her attempt to extend the sudden "dulling the pain" Palworld collab made me a little sad too, hopefully she'll make a fast recovery from this mess. I think the collab stuff depends the on will of both Cover and the talent itself. I believe their individual managers (if any) also play some role in this.

Also NTA, but I think collabs with ex-holomen are a different sort of thing, even if they assume another persona. There could be all sorts of agreements and contracts to prevent this interaction. From the former members' side we can have: "I don't want to be reminded of my mistakes/time on Hololive." ; "I disliked my old fanbase." ; "I don't want antis attacking me because I left their favorite corpo." ; "I don't want people shitting my chat with [you are (insert old Vtuber name here)!!]" and so on... On the corpo side we can have: NDA; NCC; "This person broke our trust, we will lose some face if collaborations are allowed" ; "They may steal our viewers (a.k.a. "leeching")" ...et al. I'm sure it is a rrat produced here but wasn't there a Holostar that misused his holo-persona name after graduating and quickly got shut down by Cover? This could also be something they want to avoid. Another thing to add is that the atmosphere in a collab between an active holomen and an ex-holomen could be very awkward.

I doubt it. I would be very surprised if any of the JPs have come here of their own volition. We do know some of the IDs come here and have confirmed it either implicitly or explicitly. I am sure a couple of ENs probably check occasionally too.
But I cannot think of any JPs that would bother, let alone be aware of this place unless they visit 2ch or futaba enough to see the occasional cross-posting of sorts that happens, similar to how some people occasionally make posts here about posts there.

This is more of an individual member's preferences. Haachama has definitely mentioned kson by name and said she wants to hang out. And there's a clip of Mikecat naming Pekora because she "liberated" all of her diamonds left behind on Minecraft.
From what I've seen, this isn't just a graduation issue. JP tends to avoid anything that can upset others. During the earthquake I saw many Sukonbu say they were going to stay off Twitter for the rest of the day to avoid seeing unpleasant posts, and some said things along the lines of "I'm only going to make this one comment and then return to my normal Otaku activities" specifically to avoid upsetting others. There was also a trending tweet recommending people to stay off Twitter if you were easily disturbed.
I think the reason JP HoloMen tend to avoid speaking about ex members is to avoid bringing up memories or feelings of things that could have been.

Not wanting former talent back in their system is kind of obvious. The ones that got kicked out automatically have to become persona non grata, or else the termination would have been a sham. For people out of the loop it would be incredibly confusing why a person that is not Mel but sounds and acts exactly like Mel would suddenly appear on another talent's channel after Mel was let go by the company for her supposed indiscretion. In addition, it's in their best interest that both the other talent and the viewers make their peace with what happened. Reanimating what for all intents and purposes should be a dead member might open up wounds for both the talents and the viewers that just got to term with what happened or might even make them feel even more depressed about it because they got a taste of what could have been. As much as it sucks for all of us, it's probably in the best interest of all the parties involved to make a clear cut at the root and make it crystal clear that it can never happen again. In Coco's case, the circumstances and reasons might be a little different but it comes down to the same thing in the end. A decision was made, and now it's in everyone's best interest to stick to it. It sucks that it has to be this way, but in the end, it is what it is.

That being said, them appearing on streams and talents mentioning and reminiscing about them is an entirely different story, though. There is absolutely no issue with the latter and I don't think people should and could be stopped from doing so. Although it is rare these days, both Coco and Rushia are still mentioned on occasion. I think it's just the other talents being hesitant to do it because they want to be careful not to open up old wounds or remind people of something that made them feel sad in the past. They are entertainers in the end, and thus a lot of them see bringing enjoyment to their audience as their top priority, so they refrain from talking about it. Fubuki has mentioned something among these lines several times in the past as well. She does broach difficult topics a little more often than others, but she has also said that she often puts on a brave face to make us feel safe when things are not looking too bright. People look up to her as someone that is really strong mentally, but she herself feels like that's far from the truth. She must have been under immense pressure when all the stuff with China started back in the day, but she rarely ever let that show at all. When she had her little Sekiro monetizing scandal, I was surprised that she actually briefly talked about the topic and mentioned she was fine and asked us not to worry too much. She's usually quite good at just ignoring negative stuff like that and acting as though nothing happened, but she must have felt that putting us at ease was more important during that time.

I think I also said something comparable in my long schizopost. I don't see a problem in sharing some similar ideas, it means that we are all in agreement on the subject of discussion, or at least we share similar opinions, it just doesn't add much to the discussion. At least it helps to keep this thread alive in these times of drama and baitposts shitting the catalog.

It depends a lot on the situation, and I know that my analogy is shit (even if I took this one from something that was close to turn into reality) , but while ignoring shit events may help you to cope better, it's not healthy on the long term or if you do it constantly.

Another thing that is not so comparable is that this mentality reminds me when I was a regarded kid and often wondered why people watch dramas and sad movies when life is already shitty enough. It took me a while to learn that we all enjoy different things, and now I enjoy watching/reading stories that aren't all sunshine and rainbows. Stories of tragedy and the like are still made for a reason.

Despite what I said before, I believe that when it comes to streamers and the like, this mindset is the best one. Most are just there to make money by entertaining people, if shit is sad and doesn't entertain anymore, why watch it? It's better to spend more time doing other things that you find fun and come back to watch them when it becomes fun again.

It simply doesn't help that, in essence, humans are flawed, social creatures. We have something called emphaty (yeah, I know that some people don't have much) and we tend to form bonds with things or people. Sometimes it's easy to forget that streamers are people too, heck, I'll even say that most of them are more menhera than the average Joe and suffer? from things like narcissism and other mental disorders. As such, they also need the support of others during difficult times, and sometimes all they have are their fans.

So...yeah, I agree with what you said and to don't agree with this mindset.

People should stop saying Fubuki got fat, she got a lean and fit body but she gained a little bit of weight because it's winter.

The hard part is finding them. How do you meet someone like Fubuki, who is likely not out socializing much either?
It feels like if you don't find someone in high school or college, it becomes near impossible. Do people actually go around striking up conversation with random women, and just hope they don't have a partner already?
I guess there is online dating, but that always seemed like a dumb idea to me. Granted I am fine with being alone, so maybe the lack of resolve to find a partner skews my view of things.
That said, Hololive has reaffirmed to me that there are certainly women out there I'd actually like to be with. But I still don't know how to look for them and am too autistic about not bothering random people to actually try talking to someone out of nowhere, unless I'm at some kind of social event (never).

I do go to a con or two a year, the ones close by, but I basically just go for looking for rare merch and that's it. The panels and events are rarely interesting to me. Have found some nice old Touhou doujins though, which is why I keep going back.

Ironically a lot of third world areas probably have better con access cause they have any at all and are closer in general. Here in the US, unless you live in or near a city that hosts a con, you'd be looking at long drives in the best case, if not having to fly somewhere to reach a con.
Closest con to me is a 90 minute drive. Second closest is 4 hours. Third closest is probably 8 hours.

If Fubuki makes you happy and inspires you to do better at life and not give up, there's nothing wrong with that, honestly. Relationships and children aren't all there is to life. For some people, they are the top priority, but others just aren't made for it. Relationships can also be a great source of stress and, if everything goes south eventually, pain. I can pretty safely say I am much happier on my own. At least on average - the good times peak higher, but the bad times can be really really bad. Of course, if I were to meet someone even half as amazing as Fubuki, I would probably be willing to give it another try, but I don't go seeking it out actively anymore, so the chances of that happening are pretty slim. It is what it is, though. I feel like once you accept for yourself that you're fine on your own and stop worrying about it too much, life gets much easier.

I'm not really interested in cons at all in the first place, but from an outside perspective, I can't imagine anything less appealing than going to one and using it as an opportunity to go look for a partner. Going there to meet random people with shared interested like that other anon suggested is one thing, but actively looking for a relationship should definitely not be the reason you do that, that's just not what the vast majority people are there for and you'll come across as desperate.
