>Game companies should be BEGGING them to play their games online and giving it positive exposure
>VTuber companies should be FORBIDDING their talent from even mention a game without forcing their publishers to sign a full permission for it to be played online

Somehow the contrast between other entertainment medium and VTubing is very telling. KPop idols (be it male or female) can't even fucking sip water on camera without a handler authorizing the correct brand to be used.
Same for athletes, same for A list stars, even fucking instagram thots won't even use a brand without getting paid for.

The fact that they haven't is stupid, especially now that they have CAPCOM, NINTENDO, AND SEGA agreements.

It's not autism, it is being smart.

Having an unsigned implicit consent can backfire as fast as some developer takes exception with you. See:
>some retarded developer retroactively retracting permission for pewds and urging other developers to do likewise and STRIKE Pewdiepie channel because he said "nigger"

>Ibrahim also pointed out that Vanaman’s reasons for issuing the DMCA takedown notice, which Kjellberg spoke about at length in the video above, aren’t of any real importance in the court of law.
>Under copyright, an author’s underlying justification for bringing an action carries very little weight unless the claim lacks merit. If, as most of my clients believe, Let’s Play is not fair use, Vanaman could issue a take down for any reason or no reason and all, and as long as there is still actual infringement, an argument of “bad faith” probably won’t have much of an effect on the outcome unless you get a very sympathetic judge or jury.
And the consequence would be
>According to Google’s policy, if Kjellberg were to receive three copyright strikes, his account will be terminated.
>All videos uploaded to his account will be removed and he won't be able to create new accounts.
>Essentially, every video he has ever uploaded to YouTube will be erased.

Bottom line is: you either get written non retroactively revocable permission or any developer can simply wait until one of your talents streamed three videos with your property, strike it three times and give that talent the death penalty

Capcom came very close to do it to Cover, they striked Mio TWICE and held back the third, and send a very serious letter to Cover saying more or less

Getting written permissions doesn't prevent videos from being privated if the permissions are withdrawn, but it is their only recourse IF the publisher or dev turn out to be assholish enough that they strike without warning and try to kill the channel over old videos.

Out of respect. In the example I gave Pewdiepie privated the video but that didn't shield him from the strike because he didn't have explicit written permission to use it.

>Japanese businessmen are some of the most backwards thinking people.
It is not "backward thinking", it is INGRAINED in their culture that one of the worse things a person can do is to use someone else's property without authorization, it is considered theft no matter how irrelevant the use is or how inexpensive the item is.

I like to use two clips to illustrate that

1) Korone PANICKING for having sheered a single Haachama sheep and taking one unit of wool without asking permission.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-nUbkj5kaw
She genuinely felt bad even if the sheep would just grow the wool again by eating grass.
Nips don't roll that way, it is one of the biggest faux pas to use something that belong to others without explicit permission.

2) Ollie almost getting herself cast as a thief and persona non grata (mostly by the JP audience) because she "stole" diamond in the Usaken Trade Center.
She came >< this close of antagonizing the whole JP audience watching Minecraft and the one thing that saved her was Moona (very seriously and uninonically) killing her to punish her for her transgression, restituting the item and absolving her from that point on
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlpB222oPkY

That's how nips roll. I am not saying it is a good thing or that it is a bad thing, it is just a japanese thing and using their property without permisison is the recipe to get punished even when they are more than happy to give permission afterwards.

That's a contrast with the burger way of "it is better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission"

It is not "the algo", it is content produced in english (or russian, for instance) linking back to their videos.
I stumbled in some niji clippers and even then clip Holos on occasion. The more content is produced the more content is recommended and the more "adjacent" content is recommended which, in Holo's cases, unavoidably happens to be collabs and multi POV Minecraft (which links them in the eyes of the algorithm).

Boomers won't see past that. It was below 80k in the first 12 hours. For comparisons, IRyS released her cover 3 hours earlier than them, and her views was around 150-180k in the first 12 hours. Anon, you can't be building a schedule around Ame stream times because she is too much of a spazz and will schedule streams all over the place. Also this is spectulation on my part, but given the reaction to Coco's graduation announcement I wouldn't be surprised if a few of the shoe ins for EN2 pulled out after that. According to Ame they all saw Coco's 3D as a group.
Her 3D was on June 27, so roughly after 34 days of auditions closing (May 24) they were all chosen. After Coco's 3D it was 77 days until they debut (September 12).
EN2 auditions closed on March 26, if we follow the same rough time frame, EN2 were already chosen by April 29 and have currently been waiting 83 days to debut since then.
Waiting until October 1 at the earliest from what you're saying means they would have been waiting at least 155 days from when they were all chosen.
Don't forget that Youtube doesn't send you your first superchat paycheck for another 6-8 weeks.
EN 1 got to experience Aloe being harassed into graduation right before they debut and then had to go through the China shitshow right after they debut.

Technically it did work, Aki and Mel's numbers are better now than a year ago, but they were bottom Holos for a reason and if they stream during primetime, they get wrecked. Mel in particular hasn't even streamed much at all this month. Elira is doing a hardcore mode minecraft challenge rn which is inherently a buff game, so she's hitting her usual "buff game" numbers of 4-5k. If you look at Aki's numbers, they're almost the same as Elira's, with 2-3k normally, and 4-5k when buffed.

>By the numbers presented with Holo, reaching 70k is doable given the number of people that reached it and how many
The whole point of the comparison is to show that even a 3D debut being a one off even it does not mean it is a low number.
People seeing 100k+ live viewers on the regular removed their ability to appreciate how big 70k live viewers are.

The point of showing only 2021 is to show that out of yearly special events (or lifetime ones as the 3D debut) it is very rare to reach 70k and most people do it once, twice in a year

Sadly at the moment I only have Holostats numbers. Does Niji even have an equivalent high rate of sampling site?

Just today I finished hooking up my jiggamagig into Playboard to catch the superchat numbers and, as a collateral effect, I can read their live viewer numbers too.
The problem is that by using a high quality like Holostats and compare with Niji on a low quality like Playboard I would be causing a disservice to Niji

Aki definitely still has one of the most Eigo chats in JP. So at the very least, it worked for her to the degree that a "honeymoon" buff would work. Even back then, she didn't have that many viewers and often sat between 3k and 5k.

But they do. You only have to do your part and ask, in writing and
>the most important part to the Japanese
wait WITHOUT taking what you were not previously authorized before you get permission.

That's different from the western mentality that "it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission".
Tanigo likely went to a hostess club with Capcom and Nintendo presidents, drank sake out of some big boobed japanese hostess with them and they patched up things so well Capcom even sponsored Mio in particular to make up for the trouble.
But you HAVE to ask permission first, bow very deep and wait

I'm not devaluing her number, I am pointing out that the numbers presented is retarded to begin with. Surprisingly there's ZERO overlap within Niji for the entirety of their timeframe. They actually seem to be hyping this up. Niji debuts are typically weak but 37.5 would be a low bar.

I don't quite remember what the time slot was but they were on the weekend instead of a Thursday.

Running through some of this video descriptions I noticed some had shit in english. I guess some of them wanted EOPs.

That's good for the numbers. 1pm-4pm on a weekday may not be the debuff we're thinking. The tweet describing their debuts was finally pinned too. 37.5k doesn't seem too low, no liver debut in 2020-21 has gotten more than 35k I think.

Mafumafu gets views because he's primarily a music artist. Most of his views are from his MVs and Covers. For some reason, he's listed as a vtuber when Mori is listed as an artist. One of the many reasons why playboard sucks, but we don't have an alternative.

It isn't playboards fault. It's Mori/Cover/Youtube's fault. Mafumafu is verified on Youtube but does not have the artist/musician musical note indication. Mori does.

Finana and Selen playing APEX at 4k viewers, which is good for Niji EN.

>> No.6887773

Ya Selen is def the star of NijiEN2 and I think her Apex streams will be 4-5k+ which is in "buff game" territory for NijiEN. I don't think I've seen Finana get more than 4k since her debut, and if you're watching the stream, it's because of Selen. She makes Apex fun to watch.

>EN absolutely is reclining since January.
>a lot of EN viewers left for Twitch
Well there are many factors:
1. Niji EN took a small amount from Holo EN.
2. People are starting to get bored of the low selection, and probably waiting for Gen 2.
3. The apparent move to family friendly by Cover (reason Coco left), plays some role. Also hurt Cover’s image a bit, particularly with Coco leaving.
4. More competition as EN VTubing gets more streamers.

Mine is addressing four points as to why Holo EN seems to be declining a bit. You’re replying to those points without addressing any of them. Your post is the most retarded so far.

>> No.6889238

>>6888882
Are you trolling me? The decline of Holo EN has occurred twice. What saved it momentarily was the new outfits, then it went back into decline again. For example: Anyone who has been here for some time has seen the drop in Gura’s live viewers, which was momentarily saved by the outfit stream, only to be in decline again. What more is there to argue? That her numbers never dropped at all?
>>6889051

I wasn’t addressing that part, only addressing the apparent decline in general, which has occurred. My response was only to explain the why, rather than pretend nothing happened.

Honeymoon phase wearing off is the not the same as decline. Youtube changed how they counted live viewers in Dec 2020 and everyone's numbers dropped as a result, hence the big dropoff in the graph.

>Anyone who has been here for some time has seen the drop in Gura’s live viewers, which was momentarily saved by the outfit stream, only to be in decline again.
Gura's numbers have always fluctuated depending on the game she plays. When she plays games she's good at like DBD or rhythm games, she gets good numbers. When she plays games she's shit at like Metroid/MH/DMC, she struggles to get 15k. This has been the case since January. If she was really declining, then she'll be stuck at 15k and sub count growth would slow down, but neither are. It's just typical buff game/debuff game fluctuations.

>I wasn’t addressing that part, only addressing the apparent decline in general, which has occurred.
What general decline are you talking about then? Since last year? Ever since March 2021, they've inclined and are higher than they were in Jan 2021.

>They were increasing views because they were new at the time (honeymoon), which you are not allowed to count.
You count all growth—even the first four months—when there is apparent loss of interest with people leaving, you can count that as well. And when growth returns again (outfit streams), you can still count it. And it’s been in decline again.
>Gura's numbers have always fluctuated depending on the game she plays
Yes, and they’ve been in a general decline regardless. These aren’t mutually exclusive.

At least you’re attempting to address my post directly. The others who were focusing on the “January” thing weren't actually addressing the decline, which clearly seems central to his post. I addressed the decline, otherwise it seems like nit-picking.

I felt like the reason most of the fanbase still focus on Twitch is due to 3rd add-ons and integration to interact with the stream instead of the absolute barebore stream view experience we get on Youtube. Especially points, bits, tts and donate to vote, donate to play a random sound is basically the norm on Twitch and make everything much more interactive.
