It's clear they don't want to touch the Selen termination topic with a twenty-foot pole. So if they're just going to pretend nothing happened...where does that take us? Are we watching a slow death or is this all a nothingburger for the yachtphile?

Niji's collabs and reputation are dead in the water.
Resultingly, Niji's growth potential is worse than its competitor.

Petra's 3D Debut starting at the same time as the free portion of HoloFes Day 1.
Feels like at this point they are just throwing in the towel and gathering material they can use to justify closing NijiEN and folding the couple talents that want to stay into the main branch.

Special events like 3D Debuts are a huge draw for casual viewers that don't actively follow them.
They virtually always get you high CCV and large subscriber spikes.
Doing a special stream as a smaller vTuber, which let's be honest Petra is, at the same time as quite literally the biggest vTubing event of the year is fucking retarded. All the viewers who could come across her 3D Debut on social media and tune in will be watching HoloFes, really the only ones who will be following Petra live that day are the diehard Niji fans that will be watching her no matter what, it's squandering a very good opportunity for growth.

They don't have a future in the west. The absolute best case scenario that doesn't involve nijisanji EN dissolving and getting roped into the JP branch is them slowly losing fans as they get absolutely fucked by the algorithm noticing people unsubbing. Cons don't want to be anywhere near them. Sponsors might even dry up except for the most toxic of brands like RAID. Merch vendors might even be wary about them in the future. Their ccv and superchats are drying up. It probably won't be super quick, but eventually they will ALL be Finana.

Right now, two most important things are to

1. Hold on to their number two spot for EN vtuber corpo, before another corpo takes it.

2. associate the Nijisanji brand with good feelings and not bad ones.

They need to actively do things to garner good will with western audiences (without seeming like they're just pandering), which is tough. And it's more of a long term plan to gradually better their reputation. There's a variety of suggestions in that "Forgive Nijisanji" thread that would be good starting points but nothing is going to remedy everything quickly.
If they're hoping everything will just blow over, then I guess good luck to them? They'll probably be waiting a long, long time for their numbers to get back to a relatively decent level though, and I'm not sure they have much growth potential unless China releases another virus on the world and there's an influx of people who just don't know or don't care about anything they've done.

Even if you and other die-hard Niji fans only watch Petra, there are still consequences:
- overlap time might drive out some casual watchers.
- Putting Petra in direct competition with Holofes herself, people gonna compare those 2 hard.
The most important thing is the reach on social media gonna be botched hard (cap) due to Twitter being flooded with Holofes screenshots, last year they got Bad Apple trending.
-Do you know who is in Holofes stage 1 (opener)? Kanata/KORONE/MARINE/GURA/Bae/Risu
Do you think Petra can beat that lineup?
-not only that, but she also does a livestream after the financial meeting means some of the investors might look at how the stream performs to gauge the value.

When they closed EN for the first time, that was a write-off because they couldn't penetrate the Indian market and it was their first time operating abroad, so you can do that off as they tried something and it didn't work. Likewise, you can argue in the case of KR that the market isn't big enough and that's why they got folded into JP. That argument can't be made for ID because Hololive has a very healthy branch and there are several popular domestic companies, but still if you wanted to reach for an explanation, you could say it's a single market, it's not that important.
What are you going to do going forward when you get rid of the current Nijisanji EN? You are retreating from the global market. You are showing everyone, investors in particular you're unfit to operate on a global stage, unfit to grow.
EN isn't a write-off. It has to work if the company intends to have a future.

March
>Riku leaves, when and how I can only guess. (Could happen in the upcoming meeting)
>No graduations for March, they're delayed to build up their crumbling rep with the obsydia 3Ds.
>Vox comes back to streaming, probably in-between the dates of the 3D.
>3D debuts don't do so well. Casting more doubt on EN's future.
>Elira gets a bit more active on twitter
April
>Announcement of two graduations, I personally think it's Petra and a male (Doppio or Ren are my guesses.)
>Elira returns to streaming in the 1st week, it's a 3D live to make it special.
>New EN wave is announced, 6 people. Debut during the middle of the month.
>NijiEN's fate will be decided depending on their numbers.
>One of the new talents have a major yab, killing the waves growth.
>Graduation streams to round out the month.
May
>Scarle announces her graduation
>50% chance Fulgur joins her
>Ethyria have their 3Ds this month
>New wave genuinely might have a couple 2 views.
>Scarle graduation, surprise 3D live for her last stream. (Let me cope)
June
>Rosemi graduates, stocks fall as now a entire wave has died.
>Next meeting after March is during this time I believe.
>This will be when they decide to pull the plug on NijiEN
Everything after this is mostly moot. At most maybe they get Luxiem 3D to get that last bag of cash but NijiEN flounders thru their bucket list the months after.

I can believe this happens, just over a longer timescale and with different graduation orders. I think it's more in the 2 month - 1 year timeframe that this all starts to happen. It's genuinely easy to hunker down and ride out a rough patch, the bleeding only really starts once it's over and the survivors realise that recovery will be very hard, if not impossible. I can only imagine the internal situation in NijiEN is more akin to a wake than a vtuber branch.
>>70892849
Wouldn't be surprised, they're probably attempting to salvage their reputation with it and if it doesn't work they're probably just gonna give up. I doubt they're gonna fully pull the plug anytime soon, but I reckon NijiEN will start getting much less investment, promotion, and care from AnyColor if this goes tits up

There's PLENTY of disgruntled ex-Nijis over in Japan that would absolutely love to see the company burn.

I really want Runkle to do a follow-up stream but he won't because that smug stoic fucker think he is too shrewd and mature to bother learning the basics about a subject as ostensibly childish as Vtubing. But no, they are "probably" indie contractors by his measure. He somehow managed to look even sillier than the grifter lawyer.

He called it "not necessary and annoying" in regards to 21 and 22, but when he showed 22 later on it showed that it was just the Effective term - which is 2 years and had some more unfavorable stuff for the livers, so it's not that it's necessarily something in defense of Niji. I'm still curious as to what it was.

now that I think about it, sponsoring NIJI is actually bad after the constants yabs. Imagine Addidas supporting a black company like niji LMAO

>> No.70903461

Niji EN has exactly two options at this point:
die quickly, by being folded into the main branch as KR and ID were
or
die slowly, through attrition. All 31 remaining livers saw what happened and is happening, and will all leave sooner or later, and there will be no more applicants trying to replace them

Which option they choose mostly depends on how badly the stonks meeting next week goes, and how badly Petra gets mogged by Holofes (and potentially also by Quinn's debut the same day but 4 hours earlier)

Yeah my graduations are mostly guess work, however I think your timescale is off. NijiEN's brand right now is radioactive for growth, if the other threads are true and JP people are catching on than they're gonna want to make a decision sooner rather than later. While I do think they decide to close NijiEN in June internally, they'll likely "officially" close it sometime in August or early fall.

If only you had the self-awareness to realize how ridiculous you sound being this melodramatic about vtubing. I get that in your society anyone who speaks out against your idols and institutions need to be performatively vilified for all time, but it's not that deep.

The dude just wants to shoot guns and do pro-bono work for people who get wrongfully screwed over by gun laws. He just wanted to add context regarding Canada, but is otherwise happy in his lane.

We're watching a slow death. Everyone wants a spectacular death because it's more interesting, but that doesn't mean that's what WILL happen. If nothing happens by the end of the month, it means the company will quietly die due to lack of inaction.

Keep reclining into irrelevance and go the NijiID route. The lucky ones will jump ship while they are still somewhat relevant, the unlucky ones will graduate years later without any fanfare.

I only think who that was no much affected (full involved on the drama) with this like Scarle, Aia , Maria, Rosemi, Petra and Reimu will wait their contract end and will ask to not renovate and they will move on or for indie or going in another place after 6 months. At last this is the most smart move to take.
