Here's what happened, there was a big new years party, before actual new years, all the Holos we're flowed in, it was supposed to be a big celebration thing, because of all the succes that year. Gura got drunk and she git a little handsy with a guy there, they ended up going to a love hotel, turns out that guy was Shion's fiance, they had been some problems in the relationship they were working at, but then Gura came in all drunk and fucked Shions to be husband. Next morning she went to confront them, slapped Gura in the face, called her a whore and broke up with her fiance on the spot and ran away, the fiance called Gura a whore too and blamed her for breaking up his yet to be marriage. She went back to the room and got drunk again and cried. That video is just management trying to create a fake narrative to make sure fans think they are ok with each other. Gura isn't doing great because after that all the jp holos treated her differently, one of them even went up to her and told her "dont send me collab invites, i don't wanna collab with prostitutes", this made Gura cry again. She feels terrible about it but its not like she can take it back. It's also why you wont see much Gura/Jp collabs. The EN holos are trying to just not talk about it but its awkward as fuck. Shion is still heartbroken about it, and some of the JP holos have become good friends and a shoulder to cry on over this whole mess. I think that's the difference between EN viewers and JP viewers, at least when it comes to hololive streamers. Hololive EN seems to attract the twitch kids that live on livestreamfails and think that it's cringe to be anything other than sarcastic and edgy online. Seems like ina, kiara, and calli to an extent have shook some of those viewers off but gura and ame have been cursed with the fact that they are entertaining to those types of viewers

In Gura's case, she has become a duality hostage, meaning she will have to try please everyone. If she were to go any other girl's path, a part of her numbers will get filtered. For example, I got into Gura because of her sweetness, shark wisdom, chattiness, and singing. But now she is censoring herself because in her head she thinks people are there not for her, but for the content. She even said multiple times she will ramble less so people can enjoy the game with her. In defense of OP, haven't you guys noticed how she changed? It feels like she is not really enjoying herself anymore. Her non-stop rambling is almost gone as well. And while she say she doesn't care about the jokes, the annoyance and frustration grows and you can hear it. I've been studying Gura for a while and here's what's going on.

Gura entered into Hololive and thought people would enjoy her as a vtuber and not the "ha ha funny shark does something stupid", which she said that line over and over.

She'll pretend and say that she doesn't care when she's clearly lying. Just like the others said. She literally dropped the Ringfit over one clip that made her feel uncomfortable.

I believe that she doesn't like to be made as the butt of the joke, especially with the flat jokes, being stupid and even the lewd stuff. She'll play it off in character but deep down, she doesn't like this.

There's also stuff going in her personal life where she feels doomed and nothing matters. Maybe issues with her ADHD, which does cause low self-esteem, troubled relationships, and difficulty at work. I believe she wants a relationship but can't because of having ADHD. She hinted this from time to time but it was big during her valentine times day stream. She doesn't like the fact that she's alone and sometimes even hates her life.

I'll even say that there are moments where she wants her viewers to see her real self, which is kinda depressing. For example, when a viewer said "everything is fake", she could've said something cheerful but she said "Nothing is real" and read about "being monkeys on a small rock", that itself is rather depressing to tell people. Yet deep down, those are Gura's beliefs and how she views life itself.

And if you look at the article that Gura read, it represents optimistic nihilism with how life is meaningless and everything will fade into nothing. So Gura herself is a nihilist, which doesn't believe in a God or life having meaning but you should still have fun since life is so short.

When the Coco situation happened, it was resolved in part because Fubuki had the pull and influence to end the debate by siding with Coco. Pekora is an autist irl but her kusousagi streaming persona is loud and extroverted and she can play the part so you can safely put her in charge of marketing whatever if you need to.
