Try to raid people whose content you enjoy. Even if they've got some more viewers than you do, no one's going to be upset that someone brought another 3 viewers to them. Obviously, if you raid someone with hundreds of viewers, that's not really cool, but stick with people in the same ballpark and you're all good.

>What's good raiding etiquette on twitch? I'm a literal 2view

Feel free to pretty much raid anyone. Generally, I try to look for people of a similar size, so if I've got 7, I'll maybe look for people with up to 20. With 2 viewers, you're a bit fucked, but so long as they're both posting the raid messag. I feel that the breaking point -f they don't post it, then they're lurkers who've wandered off.

You can raid people bigger than you, and at worst you'll get called out for being a clout chaser.

All that said, I've found it much better to raid people I follow and have watched before. I attempted raiding people of a similar size playing the same games, but if you've never watched them before, then they could be really dull. Pick streamers you like (don't just pick catgirls every time though, chat will figure that out).

Is it better to play games that fit your tuuba's theme, games that you enjoy, or games that you are good at?
I know there's a lot of potential overlap there, but imagine three distinct possibilites with no overlap

>> No.7501794

>>7501694
Ideally those should all overlap, or at least two of the three at any given time. So if you play something you enjoy and are good at, even if it doesn't necessarily fit your theme, you'll be engaging and fun to watch.

If it fits your theme and you have fun playing it, you'll be fun to watch even if you're bad at it.

I'd say avoid games you don't enjoy, no matter how thematically appropriate, because you won't be fun to watch, most likely. Unless you're fun to watch suffer.

>> No.7501861

>>7501694
Ideally, they'd overlap.

Otherwise, I'd say enjoyment is probably the most important, CLOSELY followed by one you're good at. Chat will get bored if you're shit at it, unless you're really entertaining (or are female, and in the hot-tub category).

But so long as it's one you enjoy, and can explain a chunk of, then I think chat will probably forgive you being bad at it, unless it's oversaturated.

I think you need more "practical" gear strapped to your outfit like those tactical pouches and ammo holders. Maybe have binoculars or some radio strapped to you.

>Not sure what day to set it up and what info to include
I'm gonna assume that you mean literally debut, like starting your channel for the first time.

I don't think newbies should necessarily debut like the big streamers. You should probably do a brief intro for those watching for the first time, then just switch over to the type of stream you want to do regularly. For example, I spent like barely 5 minutes on my debut before I switched over to gameplay.

As for what info to include, just summarize what you want to be known for as a streamer. What type of streams do you want to do? What particular stuff are you gonna be streaming? Is there a particular game you love that your streamers are gonna see you revisit? Do you have a super bubbly personality or are you more reserved? Are you going to be very hyper and emotional during your streams or are you going to be calm and chill?

Just the basics. Don't think too much about it, anon, you'll do great.

Don't.

Start streaming, get your reps in, build a community. Don't try to arrange your debut yet - save it for affiliate, or for when you regularly hit [target] viewers in a stream.

Your debut will (possibly) pull in extra attention. So you want to make sure you can handle it, so you don't ruin it. But at the same time, if you have literally no contacts, then it could well just be you shouting into the void.

Build up steam, build up hype, and save the debut for now. You get to do it maybe twice; three times if you're a hot girl (once for your 'debut', and then *MAYBE* you get a second if you ever go for a L2D/3d model. If you're hot, you can then go for a third when you get your second L2D as an upgrade, but that's pushing it and hoping you get some whales)/

Yeah, to some random 4channer retards. No one actually cares about vtubers who show their face but people here and holotards. Most of the top indies have shown face already and seem to be doing pretty fucking good. If you've got a past following use it to the fullest.

Sounds boring if I'm gonna be honest and is so niche that there's gonna be almost no one that will watch except for your current followers. Even then it might not appeal to them. Music recommendation will work for a small section of a stream, but not the entire thing.

1. There's gonna be long periods of silence to fully enjoy the music..
2. If viewers don't like that music, they aren't gonna be interested in the history of the band.
3. New viewers most likely aren't gonna be interested in what some random guy's music tastes are.

If you want a genuine answer, think about how people who play ttrpgs design their characters. You pick a fitting character archetype and go based on the rules of that archetype, decide what parts you want to keep, throw out, or subvert and go in the opposite direction
Find a bunch of inspo pics and make a collage after you do this, and try to pick what aspects from each you want to combine

Asked in WVT, but more relevant here, as this is supposed to be for the chuubas, not the viewers. What's everyone's thoughts in general on raiding upward? How far is too far?

My last stream, I raided with 9, but only five of us were active in chat (one was my partner, on their phone but asleep), so only five posting the raid message. We raided someone with a chat of 15, so slightly bigger, but not that much difference.

Obviously, raiding Ironmouse with ten people is clout-chasing. Even if you love her stuff, you'd be better doing a shadow-raid instead. But is a raiding party of 5-10 reasonable to send to someone who's got 50 watchers? Or 100? Does it change if you're a sub on the channel you're raiding?

I think you can get a bit of traction if you can do these things:
1. Make a skin from user suggestions or based on a vtuber
2. Arrange for vs matches via the AC communities and viewers

For vs matches you'll usually get most of them in Silent Line or Last Raven versions.

AC 4 and V are cockblocked by PSN/Live subscription paywalls.

After uploading my niji application I was super anxious, checking back everyday, stressed at the fact I hadn't gotten a single view yet. But after returning to doing my usual stream reps, I've started to feel less anxious about it, maybe it's me accepting the fact I probably didn't make it and am working on reps for next time? Still no views, I'm guessing it's just that they got swamped towards the end and it's just taking a while

Not a VTuber (yet), just a normal “““content creator”””, but I recently hit 9 subscribers so it’s something. I have some idea on what videos to do next, tier list, story analysis, and the game’s story in a nutshell, stuff like that, but my irl job just entered a period of continuous overtime so I haven’t been able to gather any footage or do any editing for the past week.

My growth is mainly from two sources - one 'new vtuber' discord I shill myself in relatively hard; and from doing six hour Crusader King streams.

Early on, I might have used multiple devices to force myself to the top row of CK, and then had someone pop in as I was the only vtuber doing CK... He's now raided me three times, his partner's raided me multiple times, they shout me out each stream, even if I'm not there, and they're pushing hard to get a mega collab going in CK2.

would having a "bad stream" affect your possibility of getting recommended on twitch through its algorithms, or are recommendations purely based on your current stream content and well it overlaps with others? Eg. if I were to say, do a bunch of 12 hour long streams under no category to 0 viewers, when I switch back to regular streams will the "bad stats" hurt my visibility?

I've posted the idea before I can't get over how cool it would be to have something like pic related. I'm a guy so I'd make the puppet talk while the puppeteer just be the mascot, kind of like bahroo but not having two separate models

Got to be honest, it's going to cost you viewers.

Not just ones who thought you were a girl and followed because of that, but also ones who think you're doing it to gain followers as a bait-and-switch

Also, it limits you if you ever upgrade model - you can't have tracking of the puppet and the puppeteer, and having one be static would be really fucking weird

Character design matters a bunch, it's just not the most important thing. Cimrai's a good example. Even before she shared anything else, her model reveal vid got a ton of attention because of the design.

Design and quality is part of what gets you an initial click when your videos and pics are out there in a sea of other people.
