I saw a thread in japanese the other day with maybe 10 IPs and that's probably how many people can understand jap in the whole board.

Yeah, this is the way to do it. I pin the generals I'm interested in (even tough there's no real need when hiding everything else). Hide and ignore everything else, especially low effort/low quality rrat and bait threads or threads that are essentially just spam/dramafagging. Vastly improves the experience.
