That video that was posted was rambling mess but one his main points was Cover experienced ludicrous growth in the year prior to that repot, their numbers grew by a literal factor of ten. That much profit isn't' necessarily a good thing but they grew so fast they couldn't reinvest it effectively.

Also talking about Hal starting an agency, or how big the number Kuzeha gets are, is sort of missing the point. Hololive is big enough now they lost their top earner and are still going strong. Hal's agency would live and die with him. A significant illness, burn out, etc and the entire thing folds. A large number mid/high tier talents who can be marketed both broadly and to specific niches without being too reliant on a single creative talent being mentally stable for an extended period is a much more stable business model.

If people are legitimately curious about Kuzuha's VOD numbers for Apex streams (Powerpro streams are kinda self-explanatory, big CCV + long stream), I think it's mainly two reasons.

He does have a decent amount of fans checking his VODs since he streams all night and most people can't follow him. Looking at the numbers, the growth rate of his Apex tournament VODs definitely exceeds Pekora's, for example. Could be people wanting to catch highlights they missed or w/e.

The second reason is Apex is a big viewer churn game. Just have a look at his viewchart from last night.
https://piyo.chats.ninja/video/youtube/9VdxDQfWlnk

His viewcount fluctuates massively depending on if he's in the game or not. At one point, he dropped from 34k to 26k and then went back to 34k in 30 minutes. Every time this happens, he gets fresh views for the VOD.

This happens most to Kuzuha since he's the most watched Apex vtuber, but Kanae has a similar effect too and his Apex VODs are also big numbers despite ~10k CCV. 270k for a VOD where he was mostly 10k CCV with fluctuations is a lot.
https://piyo.chats.ninja/video/youtube/_AtivSxx5so

Another example is Hal. Look at those waves. 472k VOD views atm for a 4 hour stream with 25k peak, another stream that beats Pekora in VOD views despite lower CCV.
https://piyo.chats.ninja/video/youtube/Er4r00gMjYE

You don't see massive viewer churn in Pekora and Gura's streams for example. For smaller Apex streams, the churn is still like ~1k every match, but that's not nearly as impactful as Kuzuha losing 8k and then gaining 8k back.
https://holo.poi.cat/stream/mvyN-uVq4p4
https://holo.poi.cat/stream/TApuosFkpHU

Hope this clears things up a bit. It's interesting for sure.

Haachama is shameless in her numberfagging, specially because she lean on Haaton to provide her with that tools and intel.
Pakora likewise, but she’s more for trying to expand her market to general streaming.
Kiara is at very least “number conscious” but she couldn’t punch herself out of a paper bag so she’s in an eternal struggle to not get left behind Ina in subs.

On the other end of the spectrum: Fubuki and Korone couldn’t care less, Amelia and Risu go to extreme lengths to sabotage their numbers and Rushia, Lamy optimize for SC numberfaggottry (not that they say it out loud)

Coco mentioned something and I dealt with it once in my professional life: she would ask for permission to for X / ask if doing Y was forbidden, got a straightforward answer
> yes, you can do X
> no, Y is not forbidden
and then she would find a loophole that allowed her to do whatever she knew didn’t really fit in X or Y but that she could claim it applied.

When that happened under my watch (in a completely different field) my reaction after being made a fool of one too many times by subordinates was to impose a simple straightforward rule that applied to all undeyings
>honor system for requests is over, everything needs a formal request
>requests must contain the full details of what’s being requested
>not securing explicit signed off permission means no permission

It fucking sucked for all parts involved but I couldn’t really just say
>employee A and only employee A needs explicit permission
>for everybody else is business as usual

When the same thing started happening with Coco and the other girls I ***immediately*** recognized the scenario.
Trust in your underlings is the most important thing when working in a multi tiered team.
When that is lost and a rule book needs to be written it fucking suck for all parties involved.

Interestingly enough Marine showed the proper way to get concessions

>can I have a bikini?
>sorry, no
>can I have a bikini under a jacket?
>n-no?
>it will show as much skin as Towa’s regular outfit

Holo fans don't like Apex, they tolerate it for the girls and there's a part of the audience that are just Apex fans that join in only for those. Selene is mostly known for Apex on the other hand.

Selene is like April-August 2020 Hololive, when their live and vod views were way higher than their sub count would on average get. She's still growing and will settle in eventually, way higher than 120k.

Your mostly right but it was after taiwan accident where they really started to buckle down and it showed in her content. Cause back in December she spoke about launching a new show to replace asacoco but she could never get it off the ground due to management new restrictions. The content they could not approve was what made her popular in the first place. So it lead to them basically neutering her channel content+ the zhang spam which lead to membership only chat. Pretty much killed her channel and only thanks to her graduation it managed to revive.

Hey Selen-schizo, here's one reason. Matsuri's fans don't like watching her play Apex, Selen's fans do. Matsuri's fans like watching her sing, play Minecraft, and talk, which is why she gets higher numbers on those than any stream Selen has ever done. Most importantly tho, Matsuri fans like watching her gamble. She made $41k this stream.

considering inactive members, that would put her way over 25k current members.

This is fascinating and actually directly at odds with what others like Hal have claimed in the past. But the Spiffing Brit seems like a reliable source on this. It puts Kiara and Watame’s absolutely bonkers stream length in perspective. The Brit though his 3.5 he Rimworld stream was “long” and it’s his most profitable video. Kiara had back to back 12 hour streams her watch time is likely higher than you would expect based on ccv/subs.

I wonder if premium is just more common in NA vs Japan. Given ad rates I always mentally write off VOD revenue but this explains a lot and means it shouldn’t be casually dismissed. Hololive in general combined moderate views with huge watch time/video length.
