I still think you could get the same feeling of a branching adventure if you did a story like that via a /qst/ style quest choice system in thread where the option that gets picked is the only one that gets written. Though of course simplified to just major and some 'minor' choices.

CYOA images are kind of something else and are probably not to thread taste since ironically it would also have the too much work for too little gain since it would involve creating and editing together an image to create a system with interesting choices and picks all to give some other anon a fun five minutes picking choices/ effectively being a writing prompt.
I mean to give an example, the lowest effort CYOA image I can think of that would be board related would be like "Chuuba Harem CYOA" make a harem of chuubas from 9 points and the image would then show off a list of vtubers arranged into 3 tiers, with tier 1's costing 1 point, tier 2's costing 2, tier 3's costing 3.
This would still take like a solid hourish of work since you'd need to think about how much x chuuba should cost in points then like actually make the image. I guess it could be fun if you like photo editing.
