-consider throwing caution to the wind every now and then.
-find a supportive boyfr- person to support you. This is critical as you are saying you're feeling burnt out, and typically this is someone who is in a pressured situation with not enough support. Surround yourself with friends and family for a bit. Confide in them but also pursue other wellbeing with them.
-take a break. this can help with burnout.
-reassess what your goals are, what other viable careers out there you might be interested, can you turn chuubaing into something else. If you have passions (or did but aren't feeling them at the moment), skills that you want to keep using, think about how you can pursue them.

You seriously need to eat and put a roof over your head with your own income. Streaming as a vtuber is a full time job.

I'd argue you should bring up you can't make rent with your company first before ditching them, though. Surely you've voiced this complaint to them, right? It's better to be indie if they're taking so much you can't live. You're not their slave.

However, if you get branded as the "quitter vtuber" with these companies, what makes you think HoloEN would take you? Are you willing to work as hard as some of Gen 1? You don't want Hololive calling up your old company and learning you have a reputation as a quitter.

it's not about the numbers, really. Just do streams that excite you and can have fun with and the numbers naturally come because we're lonely people that are drawn to people who can share their fun with us, especially the type of fun that isn't vindictive and cruel. If the trouble is you can't think of any streams ideas that might be fun then streaming as a job might not be for you and might be better as a side hobby like a lot of smaller indie vtubers. But gonna tell you now, working in corporate sucks your soul out. That's why I'm even here, gotta try to detox from work life.

This, make it obvious what your alt accounts are without explicitly leaking and then have a long run up to you leaving so anyone with a brain who wants to figure out who you are can.

Regarding leaking - could "accidentally" tweet/post from alt account instead of your normal vtuber account, archive it using archive.is, delete the original tweet and then post the archived version to a place like /vt/ anonymously. People find out what your alt is, doesn't look like you're leaking on purpose as pretend you're some random fan who saw the tweet and helps them to find your alt.

Could also have your alt follow your vtuber account (archive it if your company doesn't want you to do that + do same as above), and figure out other ways to give hints to get as many people as possible to realize. Following on from before you could just generally "dox" yourself (connect alt to vtuber account) on forums anonymously for a while as well.

Work on all of this stuff right away, too, before you even announce retirement. Once the two accounts are associated with each other in the fan's minds even without officially saying anything, then you can do what Kiara did. She held a birthday stream on her dormant personal account, used her chicken voice for the whole thing (even though her real voice is easy enough to find), and even "accidentally" called herself Kiara, then clipped it out of the archive, thus cementing the association. I really don't feel like it so you're only getting a shortened version of it because I don't want some retard EOP to come in here with that misleading Sio copypasta.
Yozakura Tama was a member of .LIVE, an "idol" yuuchuba group that would have rivalled Hololive in an alternate timeline where the following didn't happen.
Tama was talented and ambitious, and she had certain goals she wanted to do yet her company kept blueballing her on. So Tama hinted at management being black, convinced one of her genmates to leave with her, and essentially burned down the entire company in one fell swoop.
She then debuted as an indie (Kusunoki Sio) where she became even more popular and successful than she ever was before in .LIVE.
This angered .LIVE fans and she gained a very dedicated hater base from it all, which culminated in her being witch-hunted after a certain IP leak happened that revealed she might have doxxed her former coworkers on 5ch.
Before any fuck-ass EOP comes in here, she was not cancelled by Holofags. She was cancelled by her former fans.

idk if fake or not but whatever, it's a slow night anyway.
I'd say the cheap way out is leaving. If you're feeling awful because the company keeps cannibalizing your viewers, taking WAY too much of your hard earned money or straight up destroying any creative control you hold, then leaving is noble.
You should also recognize what other vtubers are doing, as the adage goes; there's always a 6 year old Chinese kid better than you, much like Vtubers, there's always a 48 year old Japanese lady earning more donos than you. But "why"? Find out what exactly compels people to watch others and not you. You could also try reinventing the wheel. Do something no vtuber has ever done yet, hell that's why Asa-coco news was so inspirational to the Hololive team.

If you're under contract, just do the bare minimum until it ends and leave. If they hassle you about it, who cares, you're technically doing what's required.

Assuming not a troll. Ask yourself what you are getting from the company? Are they actually taking care of and supporting you in a way that they should? Or do you just feel like they fuck you over and take money out of your pocket?

Assuming it isnt a shit company, the best first course of action is to have an honest and open conversation with your bosses. Explain to them you are not happy and why. If you are a good employee and they are good employers you will be able to work something out to make both of you happy. This is how adults work in the real world.

If its a shit company, you have 3 real routes. 1.Put in the absolute minimum effort until your contract expires and leave
2. Put in a lot of effort to grow your fanbase and start splitting time onto your roommate channel to try to pull the audience with you when you leave and go independent
3. put in a lot of effort and use it to make a resume and start applying to other companies, with luck you can find one that will pick you up after the contract expires.

Look, if you are going corpo you are going to have to grind it, they do certain leg work and expenditures you weren't able to or willing to do.

No matter what you'll do you need to buckle down. If you decide to quit you can do vtubing as a side no pressure hobby, but you still need to be frugal with your money and work if you need a proper model and incapable of producing one for yourself.

If you go indie you have to accept that you will probably be a perpetual single digit viewer. I sometimes tune into one that has been at it for a year and I mostly see them have 3~7 viewers and they stream at least three times a week.

So it is up to you if you want support or be stress free. Of course they'll want money, they either paid or made your model, it isn't money grubbing. You just went into a path in which they expect certain sales and you just aren't viable for the quota at the moment. >> No.8471362

Streaming is always a side gig until you hit financial independence. If you're not well known outside of an agency, you'll only be solvent if the agency is one of the big two whose brands can carry your lowly, untalented ass..The best route is to go indie until you build your fanbase, because if you can't build a fanbase as an indie then you probably won't be able to as a corporate shill.

Getting into an agency is no guarantee of success, and any agency that won't advertise, shill or invest in you is a mistake. An agency is supposed to be using that cut to fund the apparatus that reaches out to other corporate entities (ie sponsors, other agencies for collabs, product partnerships). If they're not doing this then they provide no worth. A model isn't enough for an agency to offer. A brand with no recognition is useless. If they're not paying you a base salary to cover bills while taking a portion of your tips, then your contract is shit and you deserve to be unhappy for being retarded in your career decisions. Likewise, the agency may be an Ayame style black company that does the bare minimum and leeches off actual talent.

IMO, I (a first worlder with high cost of living) would never join an agency that didn't pay me a salary unless I already had a steady stream of income from a roommate account. Without the latter, it's salary or bust. That way, you could do what you wanted and focus entirely on streaming, or phone it in and get your blessed shitcanning for being a drag on the company. If an agency can't afford a single person's salary, then how do you suppose they could afford to advertise, shill and foster connections? Exactly, they probably couldn't.

Talents aren't the only ones who need to be talented. The bureaucracy behind them also needs to be filled with talented people and a decent amount of starting capital in order to compete in hazardous, unstable arenas such as vtubing. The fledgeling agency with nothing to offer except a model is no different from the dime a dozen chuba who plays by the book and does nothing different from the rest. To hell with the book. Winners write their own.

The only way to become a successful vtuber/streamer when you are a nobody or don't have the backup of a big company it's through drama, look at how many big streamers became popular because of that.

There's a number of tiny companies/associations out there these days, and it stands to reason someone's powertripping on a talent instead of being supportive of all the little fish in their pond until they grow.

If you don't enjoy it, then just quit. Let's be honest, you became a corp vtuber for an easy avatar, start-up fame, and vtuber friends. You could've went the indie route and set your own personal milestones, but you didn't and now you're complaining to us that you're not doing well in an extremely oversaturated market.

>Vtubing isnt a rainbow colored road esp if youre corporate
Serious response, where in the world it is? in mc donalds flipping burgers? in hollywood being forced to fuck kids so you can be blackmailed? in onlyfans whoring yourself? being a corporate chuba is pretty much the dream job, now, if your company is not big enough you can always aim for bigger ones until you get there, if your company is in the top, well, first of all, calm the fuck down and think about it slowly, what is the source of the problem? are you getting hate? are you not having the numbers you wanted?, if it's the hate then you need to first get into your head the idea that not everyone will like you, specially if it's something you can't change, well, if it's something you can change then it's up to you if you want to do it... uh I guess the same applies to the numbers
Or is something else the problem?

Uh I see, in that case as some already said, may be better to discuss that with them, keep in mind that they still have to make profit, but also is not in their interest for you to quit or burnout, asking for a little more of freedom may be the way to go so you have that to justify your actions, if they refuse then you should be patient and consider looking for other options before moving on

You guys need to stop telling her to be Coco because Coco was at the top of her game, had a lot of charisma and rightfully built up her fanbase. She also was the best superchat earner for a while. I know OP does not have that kind of leverage against her company.

Basically, you cannot be Coco. Don't think you can just leave your company and go indie and it'll magically work out. This goes for any other vtuber trying to get out of where you are with a company. You are not Coco. You are not going to be nearly as popular as her. Tread carefully.
