Regarding leaking - could "accidentally" tweet/post from alt account instead of your normal vtuber account, archive it using archive.is, delete the original tweet and then post the archived version to a place like /vt/ anonymously. Assuming it isnt a shit company, the best first course of action is to have an honest and open conversation with your bosses. Explain to them you are not happy and why. If you are a good employee and they are good employers you will be able to work something out to make both of you happy. This is how adults work in the real world.

If its a shit company, you have 3 real routes. 1.Put in the absolute minimum effort until your contract expires and leave
2. Put in a lot of effort to grow your fanbase and start splitting time onto your roommate channel to try to pull the audience with you when you leave and go independent
3. put in a lot of effort and use it to make a resume and start applying to other companies, with luck you can find one that will pick you up after the contract expires.

If you go indie you have to accept that you will probably be a perpetual single digit viewer. I sometimes tune into one that has been at it for a year and I mostly see them have 3~7 viewers and they stream at least three times a week.

So it is up to you if you want support or be stress free. Of course they'll want money, they either paid or made your model, it isn't money grubbing. You just went into a path in which they expect certain sales and you just aren't viable for the quota at the moment. As long as you know that your success as a vtuber at this moment has nothing to do with you as a person it's fine.

Streaming is always a side gig until you hit financial independence. If you're not well known outside of an agency, you'll only be solvent if the agency is one of the big two whose brands can carry your lowly, untalented ass..The best route is to go indie until you build your fanbase, because if you can't build a fanbase as an indie then you probably won't be able to as a corporate shill.

Getting into an agency is no guarantee of success, and any agency that won't advertise, shill or invest in you is a mistake. An agency is supposed to be using that cut to fund the apparatus that reaches out to other corporate entities (ie sponsors, other agencies for collabs, product partnerships). If they're not doing this then they provide no worth. A model isn't enough for an agency to offer. A brand with no recognition is useless. If they're not paying you a base salary to cover bills while taking a portion of your tips, then your contract is shit and you deserve to be unhappy for being retarded in your career decisions. Likewise, the agency may be an Ayame style black company that does the bare minimum and leeches off actual talent.

IMO, I (a first worlder with high cost of living) would never join an agency that didn't pay me a salary unless I already had a steady stream of income from a roommate account. Without the latter, it's salary or bust. That way, you could do what you wanted and focus entirely on streaming, or phone it in and get your blessed shitcanning for being a drag on the company. If an agency can't afford a single person's salary, then how do you suppose they could afford to advertise, shill and foster connections? Exactly, they probably couldn't.

Talents aren't the only ones who need to be talented. The bureaucracy behind them also needs to be filled with talented people and a decent amount of starting capital in order to compete in hazardous, unstable arenas such as vtubing. The fledgeling agency with nothing to offer except a model is no different from the dime a dozen chuba who plays by the book and does nothing different from the rest. To hell with the book.
