Video games and their incredible foley production really lent themselves to it. It's basically baked into a lot of the mid-2000s games, when that sweet spot of tech and budget were mingled. I think the main thing about ASMR is that people confuse the comfortable relaxation most of the offerings give someone and the actual physical response that is MUCH harder to acquire.
