Art is unfortunately kind of a numbers game; the more hours you put into it, the better you get. She's probably racked up a lot of hours as a working professional, so it'd be hard to catch up at a leisurely pace.
It's entirely possible to go from complete novice to professional level within a year or two, but you have to be prepared to make sacrifices to pull off something like that.
FZD, for example, prides itself on boosting beginners to professional level with a 1-year intensive course; but with that comes nightmare stories of constant 20-hour days and no weekends off. It really kind of depends on how much you're willing into invest into improving.

Remember, Ina does this for a living, so she's naturally going to have a lot more experience and time under her belt than most hobbyists. It's natural, and you shouldn't beat yourself up over that. There aren't really any cheat codes in art, so just try to absorb what you can and enjoy the journey.

How do you deal with art burnout? I keep going through extreme phases of drawing so much and pumping out studies and finished art, then out of nowhere I get hit with an extreme feeling of me losing all of my art skills. Not drawing for weeks or a month, then being obsessed again. Rinse and repeat. It's frustrating. I've tried dialing down and drawing just a but during the active phases, but I still end up feeling like I hit a wall and just end up unable to draw anything.

Funnily enough - might not be what's burning you out, but for me it was the constant expectation to produce something "good" and "impressive" that ended up killing the joy of drawing.
Conversely, when I set my expectations lower and just did whatever for fun, I ended up producing better and more enjoyable art.

While studies certainly are important, you should always remember why you're doing art in the first place - whether it be creative expression or just simple enjoyment. Don't lose sight of that.

For me, what I've been doing is I draw stuff I want when I'm inspired, and do gesture drawings when I'm not. Gesture doesn't need me to engage my brain much so I can just work on it without thinking and it's not too draining compared to actually working hard to make something I want to be proud of.

Discipline is important to that end - whether or not you're motivated doesn't really matter to the client. What matters is getting the job done.

That being said, you should try to leave some time for your own personal work and enjoyment. There will be dry spells now and then, but if you ever find yourself pursuing an art career where you hate every minute of drawing or painting for years on end?

That's cool, I remember being very fond of Katawa Crash back in the day.
I guess if we're sharing jank fangame assets, here's an idle animation from something I'm doing on the side.
I didn't really want to share anything until I had something I felt was indicative of the final project I hope to put out, but at the very least I guess I can make sure the sprite work isn't too terrible offensive. I really don't want to rework it, this is iteration 3. First try was my sad attempt at a walfas-esque style, second attempt just ended up being too small for what I needed, this attempt strikes a decent balance between being workable for what a I need while also not being low enough effort that I can actually create assets in a reasonable timeframe.
Looking at it right now, I'm considering making her eyes separate sprites so I can animate her blinking independently from her idle animation proper, I'll consider it if her pausing her idle to blink bothers me enough through development.

Thats a cute pixel ina. If you want to do a walk cycle, you need to make some transitional frames though. You need a side perspective for walking.
Also I would recommend slowing down the movement on the idle. Make a frame where she is moving and blinking, that way it seems more natural and the blinking is not independent of the moving.

I'll see if I can find some good images showing a side perspective of Ina, then. I'll look into trying that, though again my sprite work tends to be pretty rough so turning might look weird.

Funny enough I actually had that set up for the last set of sprites, but for the time being I just have a simple looping animation set up for Ina's walk cycle. Not the worst looking thing in the world, but at the very least it needs more frames than it currently has.
And as I said, I might just have the eyes be their own sprite just so she can blink during any of her animations. I can disable it or enable it more easily that way too, or even add more expressions that can be toggled for specific situations had something like that set up for takodachi, actually

It's not like I boycott Kadokawa on principle, the point is if they release something I genuinely like then I may give them money for it. I might buy a manga that has a personal connection for me even knowing it's giving Kadokawa money, but I won't give them money for something that I don't derive personal value out of. Because Ina is my oshi I don't mind giving her money, but I still use adblock and still leech every other Hololive member's content without giving them money, as I don't necessarily care if they succeed or fail.

In this way you're not just using your money to consume or pass time, but using it as a vote for what kind of content you want to see more of. This isn't me saying it's the only way you should behave or objectively correct, but it's at least one mindset that makes it not hypocritical to support Ina while pirating Holofes and other shit you don't feel as strongly towards.

It also means I don't care if other people pirate Ina's content because they have different priorities, and that just makes me closer to Ina as someone that does support her. If anything people who mindlessly buy every AAA game and pay full price for anime BD's and have 40+ Hololive memberships are soulless and part of why companies pump out soulless products, just to milk consumers. It makes the overall quality of content lower when creators know they can release garbage and be rewarded for it by people who have way less emotional connection for their $60 game purchase than I did for my $10 purchase of a game like Rabi-Ribi.
