Kanata's been going mostly solo for a while now. No frequent collabs, like one guest appearance in 3D. I was surprised she even participated in Lamy's totsu, when was the last time she was in those. I'm really proud of her for the EN portal relay though. I guess she's just busy but something tells me that's not the only reason.

It's often misunderstood for some reason that the singing streams were making her hearing worse, but she never said anything to that effect, and her condition was stable at the time she stopped. What she did say is that preparing a singing stream every week was affecting her health because of the extra effort she needs to put in to learn new songs.

I actually think it's the opposite in a way. It might be exactly because she's close with certain holos behind the scenes and that's enough for them. We have to also consider a few other things like Kanata not wanting spotlight and considering how people will judge her appearance there, like would that holo's fans like it. You know, her "my place in Hololive" idea and so on. On top of confidence issues, but most holos have them.

I was pleasantly surprised to see so many newcomers message and SC her on her Minecraft hardcore playthrough. Maybe it's just people memeing but Kanata mostly remembers people so I doubt she'd fall for every single one of those. That's commendable, not a lot of people are actually doing their history reps. And they're damn hard to do now with early 2020 archives gone. Kanata has changed quite a bit in just a year so there's a lot to discover but it's a fun ride.

Not the previous anon but I think you're right but that there's also more reasons. I'm gonna use her collabs with Marine to explain my reasoning as she's the most common collab partner and likely her best friend in hololive.
From both Marine and Kanata we know that they interact on the daily but their streams tend to be much more spread out, I think that's because as you said since they talk all the time they don't feel the need to collab and also their collabs lately have all been really creative like the tasting challenge or the lie detector.
Regarding the confidence issues bit, that's definitely there but I think that its at least getting better over time. If i remember correctly around a week ago in superchat reading, Kanata was talking about how she banters a lot with Marine off stream but wasn't sure how far to take it on stream in fear of offending the ichimis and they convinced her that they don't mind at all which lead to the lie detector collab where they were noticeably more scathing in their exchanges and open with their off stream weirdness. Feels like at least in her collabs with Marine we're getting a more comfortable and unfiltered Kanata at least.

There's actually quite a lot examples of her stealthily reaching out to holos she never had a one on one planned collabs with

And then tons of holos who she doesn't collab with a lot these days but keeps contact with like Haachama or Rushia. Polka to this day never had an official collab with Kanata yet they act like they've been in close contact every time Kanata drops on Polka's drunk head in a middle of her stream like it's a sure thing, something she'd never do to others.

Then there are things that happen behind the scenes we have no chance of knowing until they're revealed. For example her interactions with AZKi were non-existent but then they just present a duet cover out of nowhere. There's so much going off-stream we'll never know the actual dynamics between members, we only see the tip of this iceberg. It's the reason why Hoshi no Kanata breakup is yet to be explained and that's if there's anything to explain at all. Many such cases. Hololive really is a mystery.
