I've mentioned this before, but I feel like having the 2-d model makes it easier for women to do streaming because suddenly THEY don't have to present a perfect setting to get people in and interested. It takes a lot of pressure off of them to have to also worry about how they/their environment look while entertaining and even if people like to pretend that isn't what makes women get popular on streaming sites, 9/10 it is. Instead, they have very loose association with their 'real' selves and it gives them the opportunity to share info they otherwise might not be able to. It's pretty gud. If you don't like jrpgs, it probably won't change your mind, but if you do like em, it's a competent one. The most striking thing for a Tales fan particularly is the sense of holy shit, finally some money and effort went into this thing (sure, it's still not on the level of actual AAA like say FF, but the step up from previous Tales is noticeable as they finally moved on from the PS3 Xillia engine into something current that looks baseline-good to sometimes-amazing).
Story and characters are enjoyable, and the gameplay is fun, sure those are subjective things but yeah I like it.

Eh, at least for Tales they always had an action(ish) system right from the beginning, so there's not so much "change" instead of just reasonable "evolution".

Because other than FF, what major jrpg franchise went to action? (And FF went to shit long before anyway, for bigger reasons than just the change in combat system). Well, I am not sure how I feel about the time when a comment of mine got her to rethink her approach. Because my comment was the first to criticize her behavior in her Uno stream. My comment was levelheaded and not ill meaning, it even got recognized as such in here, but it still sparked a ton of other comments that pressured Kiara.
