Around the time this board was created, I used to spend time reading /cow/ threads, and I ended discovering this board thanks to the “Kiara is a narcissist” rrats. Not gonna lie, I didn’t believe most of it but I liked the gossip
Nowadays, just like >>9870375 said, the generals have become a replacement or complement of YT’s live chat. Also, you can ask and talk openly about vtuber topics easily anytime; there’s some useful information I discovered thanks to this board and while I almost exclusively watch Hololive, I got to know other vtubers. Not even about vtubers only, some anons helped me to get into the Fate franchise

I only post here because there's genuinely no where else I can talk about Vtubers. I'm a bonger who grew up in a poor area, so all my IRL friends are conservative muslims who'd stone me if they found out I enjoyed this sort of stuff. I tried the fan discords, but like with most large discords you're either a regular or die trying to be one, so I ended up leaving all of them after failing to get into the clique. Reddit is a hell hole where no meaningful discussions can be had with anyone.

Don't get me wrong, /vt/ is awful and I'd jump ship the moment I can find a better alternative, but my oshis general is literally the only place where I can discuss her with like minded people I've been able to find.

As I've stared branching out to indies and other company vtubers, it's been pretty interesting to see even a vtuber with 2k viewers still actively responding to and having conversations with individuals in their chat. If the holos had a tenth of their current viewership, chat would be much more usable, and threads here would slow down accordingly.

This place definitely has influence though. Almost all of the rrats are popularized here. Lots of smaller vtubers are able to gain exposure. Talents have changed what they do based on what was said here, even though they don't explicitly acknowledge it.

This place might not directly dictate what a streamer should do however it does hold a firm grasp on the community and its opinions at large.
