But again, Sony Music's situation is not the same as Netflix.
Netflix created their chuuba with only 1 goal in mind - to advertise Netflix and it's products.
Sony Music's chuubas are an entire standalone project with a goal of creating successful chuubas who would be able to compete with current chuubas. Not saying that it's guaranteed to become a mainstream, but they have much better chances than Holo and especially Netflix.

Honestly, I don't see the merit for Sony to lock their stuff from their competitors, especially for untested ground. Sure Sony did have successful chuba before, but they never stay as long as their competitors, Luna is dead now and 22/7 is just wasted potential.
People were also doom posting Holos when bushiroad released their chuba, and look at them now, Bushiroad still sponsor Holos while there chuba have less than 10k subs.

On the EN side, Gura may be less likely than the two above, but she has complained about management overreach before, and being the most subber VTuber with a previous life that also reached 1M subs, she would have the biggest negotiating position, and her contract with Hololive was up once a year passed AFAIK.

If those three alone jumped ship, sony would have the power triad of Live viewers, Gachikoi money, and Sub numbers off the bat. Who would be able to stop them at that point?
