in the future i hope more flexibility, no actual 3D like that.
For example now some programs can add custom animations, like character animator from adobe or animaze, so there is a chance that in the future those things are gonna be more easy and accessible.
I except that bigger companies like cover get to develop some pre-recorded animations for their characters, perhaps, or else a hybrid between 2d and 3D, as they do with Miko for example, which can be turned into 360, 2D characters that look better in that 3D environment

the tech is dumb simple, it's VTube Studio with Iphone X FaceID tracking tech. anyone can set that up. the actual distinguishing feature is the rigging that accommodates for all that data (like moving your mouth side to side). if the model isn't rigged properly for it, the FaceID data is just wasted since it won't register.

Vtuber technology peaked with Kizuna AI. CodeMiko just has a pseudorealistic character design but no one still has come close to the accuracy of live tracking in Ai's avatar. Her model's only flaw right now is clothes animation and collision, which takes a fuckton of processing and might take a while before it becomes affordable to use live.
