I'm pretty lenient on these things generally speaking but yeah. I'd say it's like a masked wrestler more than anything else. A lot of wrestlers are just themselves amped to a hyperbolic level so I don't mind if a vtuber talks about their personal life in some way without even bothering to try and kayfabe it like "oh when I was at my catgirl school" or whatever, but there's a difference between that and sharing selfies.

To be fair, there was a very big turnout for the supposed graduation stream. Over 1k if I remember right. A lot of people heard about her video where she just stared at the camera while deleting everything and wanted to see what's going on. For a lot of people that really was their first impression of her, and considering all her VODs are gone there's not much else to look at for reference.

Once again updated the tier list, but this time I did a bit of investigating of my own. Found a couple of chuubas that people had not shouted out to me before, so I made a changelog to shout them out to you fellas (though most of them are quite popular, I'm just out of touch I guess) (also I know next to nothing about Tsunderia).

Well since you're here you might as well take a look around. Links get posted every now and then. Vtubers are basically just streamers who replace the face cam with a virtual model and optionally add a little bit of kayfabe for fun. There's big corpos like hololive, nijisanji, and vshojos, smaller corpos, and indies. This thread is primarily for english-speaking indies and smaller corpos. Some posters are just viewers, but there are some vtubers posting here as well every now and then. You might even take a look through the catalog to get a few more perspectives on the hobby, though most of it is dominated by hololive and nijisanji which are mostly JP based aside from their EN branches.

Little_S is a good suggestion from /here/ if you like that kind of humor. He's a PNGtuber, meaning rather than a fully rigged model he has a series of images he flips through to emote himself, but his humor is in a similar style to Nux, even if he's a little more self aware about it.

If you've never seen ANY other Vtubers and you like Nux's humor, you might unironically like the Vshoujo streamers, even though they get occasionally shit on in this thread for being 90% coomer jokes. There's a dedicated thread for discussion about them.

I absolutely love Hellsing and Shinobu / Kiss-shot from Monogatari is one of my favorite anime characters of all time... as you can probably tell from my design. Correct. It's not easily replicated and cannot be controlled, and sometimes it just fucks you over. One vtuber I watched once played a game that was popular at the time and got swarmed with viewers, but they were all children who couldn't behave and never came back for another stream. Another vtuber played that same game not long after and only got her regular audience. You not only need to hit the jackpot, you need to keep hitting it in the right way every time.

I'm not sure, I do like certain type of vampire lore more, like how it has to be a conscious effort to turn someone into a vampire, like in the Masquerade of Monogatari, rather than Blade or others where everyone bitten gets turned. It's illogical and weird.

Honestly I do prefer the Monogatari idea of oddities more, I watched Bakemonogatari and Kizumonogatari at a time in my life when I was feeling really bad so it sort of... clicked for me.

Having both right next to each other definitely helps digesting the differences between the two. There's little elements beyond just the clothes that changed, like the shading of the skin, the shape and coloring of the eyes, the freckles, the "floofiness" of the hair... I'm more partial to the old skin and eye shading, freckles, and hair, but do greatly appreciate the new clothing's bits and bobbles for rigging movement. If you're cooking up a toggler to swap between them, like a redeem, little design differences like that will feel a bit jarring without a "this is my fueled-on-drank Forma de OL" tagline, at least to me.

I haven't read Kizu but I saw the movies and the Monogatari series is one of my top animes of all time. I don't really like the MC, but I consider him a necessary evil...
