Watching a streamer means you only listen to one artist and actual performance is time not spent building a relationship with the streamer. Think Azki vs Irys. Streaming music is a lot like streaming art. It’s very hard to make it work unless you have a very specific set of skills. 8bit drummer manages it pretty well.

As a Watamate, the 2 are in a pretty different situation.
Suisei is THE vtuber singer at this point, even last year NCP won Best Vtuber Song and as a solo artist she's doing the best sales in a long time.
That's also the thing, she's been doing the singer route for a very long time, not just with the Cinderella vocalist story, but since the start of her career she's been associated with singing.
As much as Watame is known for her singing, it's not been her main draw, instead being the chill fluffy late night long streams.
I know calling 3 months of song releases 'rushed' seems weird, but it did feel a bit like a shift in content and people didn't have enough time to adjust.
Hell, unlike Suisei who saw another raise in ccv, Watame has seen a big drop since she started dedicating time to off-stream recordings, practice and promotion.

But it doesn't help that almost none of the Holos sing her songs in karaoke streams. They did come out a bit too recently and most are hard to sing, but if you wanted to, 3 months is more than enough time to learn at least 1 song.

I think a year from now Watame will be way more established and do even better for her 2nd live, but by then Suisei would be way bigger and we'll have this same conversation again.

One of the issues with Watame is that her streaming hours often mean that the ones watching her are going to be late nighters and whatnot. That limits her reach, and those types also don't seem to really do their song reps, as indicated by how her song views don't grow anywhere near the rate that Suisei's do.
Also, "boohoo bad past" isnt anywhere as good of a story as 'i started from nothing, clawed my way up from a 2view to where I am now'. One gets you pity points, the other males you want to cheer and boost.
