Good morning /wvt/!

What's everyone's weekend plans? Weekend = drinking streams for me so I'll be doing that later playing pokemon~

Some questions for y'all:

1. What makes a good chat environment for you? If there are primarily mods and VIPs talking, how likely would you be to say hello?

2a. Viewers, who would you like to see incline or receive more recognition?
2b. Chuubas, who's someone you look up to / want to interact with more?

3. Your hottest take on Vtubers?

>>1. What makes a good chat environment for you? If there are primarily mods and VIPs talking, how likely would you be to say hello?
Mod/VIP chat is the saddest thing in existence. Mods should be quiet and watch or chime in occasionally if the chat is dead. VIP should be reserved for VIPs, not just acquaintances.

>>2a. Viewers, who would you like to see incline or receive more recognition?
m*les

Good morning! My weekend plans involving working a morning shift, sleeping right after work, then waking up for a graveyard shift! ;@; I also only got an hour of sleep and I can’t fall back asleep :<

1. I think it depends on my mood. I don’t find chats where mods and vips are the main people chatting to be off putting. Sometimes I’m there to add to the convo and sometimes I’m in the mood to mostly lurk and only interject once or twice. If I’m in the mood to chat, I’ll chat regardless of other factors.

2b. Mixed RL and Virtual streamer but mic_feedback is always an inspiration to me production wise and is who keeps reminding me how much I want to collect and restore retro consoles. Playing on hardware is always more comfy for me than emulating.

3. Is chuubas out here still living in Fahrenheit and Celsius when we need to take ourselves into the Kelvins. We’re not hot enough! How can we be the next hottest thing when the Sun is still hotter than us!

>1. What makes a good chat environment for you? If there are primarily mods and VIPs talking, how likely would you be to say hello?
I do not really care about mods or VIPs. I used twitch primarily, so I am used to that environment and see them essentially like regular chatters. I try not to talk too much, but mostly because I prefer lurking.

>2a. Viewers, who would you like to see incline or receive more recognition?
Corpse.

>2b. Chuubas, who's someone you look up to / want to interact with more?
Kongou, Corpse, Randon, Picky, Alker, Kimi, probably more.

>3. Your hottest take on Vtubers?
Uh. Not sure. I do not think too much about people outside of who I enjoy, so I have very few grievances.

I bought some new games to play myself ahead of streaming them. I've enjoyed doing 'first playthroughs', but the scuff and hesitation during the VODs is awful. So I lie, and play the game a bit first.
I also have a half marathon tomorrow that I forgot about until the bib came in the post. So I'm going to die.
And finally, I'm prepping for celebration stream this coming week. I hit a milestone, so I'm taking two days out from work, and doing a marathon stream

>1
I honestly don't care about VIPs, but if there's a tonne of mods, I'll be more careful, especially if they're accounts I don't know. One of my close(ish) friends is a powermod for one of the discords, and he mods ~10 channels, so he doesn't worry me. Beri's first chat did.

>2b
I want to interact more with streamers in general, but I don't watch other small streamers the same size as myself often, and it would feel weird to reach out to someone with 10~50 times my viewcount to ask if they want to play CK3 or something

There's SO MUCH virtue signalling. All the "I don't care about follower count" stuff is spouted by the bigger accounts, but you know they will ignore any request coming from anyone with less than 75% of their figures. It's all just to make them look good, and gain the prestige.

Honestly not sure how I feel about it all. A lot of badges can look daunting when it’s a sea of green I suppose! But it also depends on how many are watching. If it’s a smaller stream and mod is chatting because there aren’t many other chatters it’s a different vibe to 6-7 mods talking all at once.

I have been wondering if I should do the same... I enjoy learning games on stream but dealing with the, "UHHH, miss streamer? You are BAD at this game you have never played before! WTF?" Is making me feel like I should play the games first. Especially with games suggested by chat from genres I have no experience in whatsoever. But part of streaming is trying new things, too... Hrm.

I like a chat that has some good banter going that's not immediately embarrassing. I don't go in for redeems or anything so that stuff leaves me cold. So long as the mods aren't horrid I'm OK with it, but it does make me leery seeing that. I'll try and change the ratio of cringe if I can but it's tough sometimes.

My hottest take would be that there's too many that are all the same. Same voice, same art, same mannerisms. There's only so much animu shit I can enjoy till I'm looking for something different. Vtubers need to start finding some hooks.

>> No.11868798

>>11868689
You have to ignore those people, maybe put in the chat rules?

I have laid off that commentary since it's useless and doesn't add anything. Also it's pretty cute to see someone struggle and succeed. Most streamers are fine at games anyway, and I'm here to enjoy their company, not see them MASTER Bloodborne or whatever.

>> No.11868839

If it's a game I care a lot about, I will always ask the streamer if they want advice, esp. if they're stuck on something I know is tough or not very obvious. So I'm split between chivo hunting and first playthroughs on stream. FPs have been:
>Necromunda
>Spellcaster University
>Portal2
>Potion Craft
>RaidSL
>Humankind

Probably some others.

Doing a first playthrough, with literally 0 time in it prior, is great if it's a solid game, or you're familiar with the type of game (I've played Portal, just not P2; I've played Civ, but not HK). I had a great moment in Necromunda when the tyranids showed up, because I very nearly shat my pants, got a few clips of me screaming and going "WHAT THE FUCK WHY ARE THEY HERE I'M GOING TO DIE", and bursting into the Emperor's Litany

If it's a new game, with no info, then it sucks. Spellcaster University is bugged, and about 1/5 of the time is me saying "I think this is how it works, but there's no guides written up on anything, so who knows".

I wouldn't play the game the whole way through, but maybe play 15 minutes, to get a handle on controls, and then start a fresh save?

Also, I pop on the 'backseating allowed' or 'no backseating' tags. Chat pays attention to this (when I tap the sign, at least), so that they will actually help, rather than just "lol u suck"

Always remember that everything they say is about sex. If a holo mentions her brother, it's a sex partner. If its a friend, it's a sex partner. If she seems happy, it means she had sex. If she is sad, she didnt have sex, but then she had double sex. If a holo is going to the toilet, shes actually going to have quick sex. If she went on a date with another holo, they actually went to have sex. If she fails on a puzzle in a game, its because she is having sex right now and is being distracted. Table smash? Not a fist but it's her hitting the table, because she's having sex. Did she oversleep a stream? Sex. She was having sex and couldnt stop. If she starts a guerilla stream it's because she's having sex right now, but wants to be risky with viewers. Whenever a holo takes a break, its not because shes tired. You know why she takes a break from streaming? To have SEX. Whenever a holo talks about her family, shes actually talking about her sex roleplay she had. The story of a journey with her mother or father? Sex roleplay. She actually had sex. Whenever she laughs, cries or sneezes, whenever she peko pekos or thanks someone during a collab, whenever she gets big numbers or is being bullied she's actually having SEX at that very moment. Not only that, but everything is actually a keyword for sex.
Thanks for the aka supa = thank you for the sex
in a good mood? just had sex
Tired this week = tired from the sex, but ill have more sex
Planning a collab = planning to have sex
Oh sorry, that was just my family in the background = oh im having SEX right now
Thank you for all the support everyone = thanks for all the sex im having right now.
It all revolves around sex. All holos, every single one, have sex every day, every hour, every moment. Every single narrative, every single noise she lets out is because of sex. The sex she is having. All holos read these threads and theyre here right now. All while having sex. They keep having technical difficulties because they have so much sex, it fries electronics in their room. Theres so much sex happening in their room that the sex waves cause Youtube datacenter to malfunction. Every yab moment is because they cant stop having sex to think straight.

It all depends on the streamer. If they're engaged with the chat, maybe doing a zatsudan, that's good. But if it's just running the same mobs over to dead silence I don't want to see it.

I don't want to force the streamer to play on their off-time, either. But that may help, honestly, especially if it's a JRPG or something.

ye, I was mostly thinking stuff like Monster Hunter, or Pokemon. There's times when you just have to go and murder 50 Rathalos to get the brainstem to make the helmet you want, but it's super boring to watch, and the streamer needs to actively pay attention to the game to avoid dying, and so taking longer.

It's easy (ish) to slip into a zatsu if it's not particularly a punishing game, but for ones where you need to play attention, I wouldn't realistically watch it.

Some advice i give myself when I feel down or worried about doing something.

You can literally die in an hour. You have no way of knowing. In an hour you may be gone and everything you wanted to do but pushed ahead will remain undone.

Whether you want to live life as cringe, or try to amass friends, the only way to do it is to do it. Ultimately you can’t change the circumstances of your birth, but you can change your current circumstances.

So send that DM. Hit up your oshi. Reinvent yourself as a vtuber. Some people will rail against you, some will find you annoying, but more will find you inspirational. The ones who dislike you don’t matter. There are seven billion people on this planet, statistically most would not like you. Get over it.

The worst part is that I like to cook and I love to make food, but I almost exclusively make food for myself and it's so demoralizing. I just eat straight out of the pain to save myself on dishes.

it's good to accept help when you're struggling, especially when it's something small, i've also been sick for the past few months too but forgetting to eat has probably been one of the things extending it
gotta make sure to eat so you stay healthy, so eat up my dear
also, it might break the architect theme but a hot and hearty meal in the morning is good for you and keeps your body out of starvation mode

Skipping breakfast is okay but please make sure you get enough calories in your day! Some chocolate milks have actually a pretty strong amount of protein! Maybe like 2 eggs worth in an 8oz glass? So it's a pretty solid thing to help hold you off!

But please eat lunch.

>>11870232
Don't let the blue waffles go to waste! : D But naps are good too.

>>11870616
Pretty solid! Depending on the type of milk, it can be a pretty solid source of protein which is a nicely energy dense. : D

A lot of what can make it easier to learn is learning some one-pot/pan style stuff! A low what I do to help reduce how much work it is to cook is to roast a protein (like a quick meatloaf or chicken breast) in a sheet pan in the oven with some veggies.

Toss zuccini, peppers, potatoes, and carrots (all cut to similar sizes) in a sheet pan with some oil and herbs. toss some chicken breast in it, and toss it into a 375 to 400 F oven. Check the temp of the chicken about 25 minutes in cause you'll want to pull it out and set it aside until the end. Finish the veggies for another 10-15 minutes and toss the chicken back in if you need to warm it back up (I leave mine in the microwave covered to keep the heat in)

I feel like I get tired of my oshi sometimes but then she does a great zatsu and I'm a big fan all over again. But maybe Phasmophobia. It's just not interesting for the viewer.

I only started coming here a month or so ago but I really like it, even with all the fighting and rrats and schizos. It's nice to talk to chuuba in a place where I'm not anxious or embarrassed.

Hello ary! Hope you're having a nice weekend.

>1) What are some seasonal stream ideas you think streamers could take advantage of?
Beyond the big seasonal events, I wonder if some more local cultural events can be made into special streams. Inis had a little Oktoberfest stream. Vtubing sometimes doubles as cultural exchange, and I wonder if this can be expanded on. The more obscure the better, right?
>2) Have you found yourself getting tired of any content or streamers lately?
I feel like I have, but I can't pinpoint what exactly. Collabs, maybe? Especially ones with multiple POVs. I can't multistream them all. Then again the poya drinking stream last night was fantastic, so maybe it's something else.
>3) It is coming upon /wvt/'s 1 year anniversary.... How do you feel? Are you celebrating? Are you mourning? Any good memories? Any regrets?
Time passes by quickly. It's a strange feeling. I was hoping to celebrate with Kitanya's return, but she'll have to delay that since she's till recovering. I'll just take it easy and reminisce how far everyone has come I suppose. You in particular have grown!

I appreciate the support but in my opinion, oshi isn't a term to just toss around. It's a term for the Vtuber most special to your heart, the one you want to see succeed more than any others. You can support plenty of vtubers without them being your oshi. If you describe to a different view of how to use the word like applying it to multiple vtubers, you don't need to call me your oshi. Either way, I'll still be grateful for the support, It's not like I'm expecting to be anyone's oshi at this point.

Pick and choose what you like. The world is your basket in terms of events that happen.
Like you could probably do a harvest-festival every week as autumn draws in on the northern hemisphere. You could cover events, local traditions somewhere else, celebrate some event, go on da deep dive, do some cooking, (virtual) hiking or some other hobby. The sky's the limit.
>2) Have you found yourself getting tired of any content or streamers lately?
No. I wish more people would take care of their (public) archives though.

It will show you if there's been replies in a thread you are watching (and if you got replies (cursive formatting)). Works better if the thread has an archive, but will still work while a thread did not get pruned.

I just wanted to find someone to collab something specific, nobody I knew at the time was interested in it, then i stumbled into this persons stream and they were super passionate about the same thing I wanted to collab, so that night I threw my shot and told them they didn't need to answer right away because we barely knew each other, i just kept going to their streams, they were super into the idea and a month later they nervously asked me if I was still interested, and I just said "Of course I am", we got to know each other really well
we're really just friends but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a lot of chemistry, they're someone i've been helping a lot and they've helped me a lot too, but it would be incredibly dangerous to move into a different sort of relationship and I think we both understand that and are happy with how things are

Phasmo collabs are great for chuubas who are friends, but i think Viewers got bored of them a long time ago. They need to learn to stop doing them.

Something I've been thinking about since the topic of karaokes and singing came up last night, does anyone have any ideal chuuba singing groups they'd want to see? I think it would be neat to see small subunits form up for a few song collabs like how Bloom, Kenji, Kaji, and Cain have done a couple of four-man barbershop shanties
I'm mostly inspired by Love Live I really liked all the subunits they had and think seeing /here/chuubas getting together like that would be neat

>Do chuubas like viewers*?
I'll believe it when I see it, many seem overly enamoured with socialising with other chuubas.
Randon is a good example of someone who seems to put their viewers first even outside streams, and while he has other things going for him he's not exactly struggling for viewers. Coincidentally he's on:

i do some GFE on stream and a few viewers have tried to flirt in dms. i tell them that i'm comfortable acting on a stream but that dms are inappropriate place for GFE. i'm an entertainer, i put on an act when i'm live and i don't do GFE in twitter dms or act as my vtuber persona in them. i treat off stream communication as more formal and professional than the stuff i do with chat on twitch.

yeah I do agree with you, I don't like even saying 'friends' because that word sounds final in my mind
in my mind it sits more as "I am me and they are them" if that makes any sense, instead of any sort of classification
but I'm also the sort of person who's ideal relationship is to marry their best friend, so it's easy to set myself up for failure without realizing i've done it
keeping things open and vague is best for any relationship i think, just simply enjoying each others presence without worrying about putting the round pegs in the square holes

You are thinking about it wrong if that's your mindset. Its a loose conglomerate of similar vtubers who sometimes collab and who promote each other, nothing more. Its not a corporation, your singing no contracts, its nothing but a positive for everyone involved because its free promotion among people that you vibe with, if you fit the aesthetic they have. A Twitch team is just a promotional association, its always been that way, and everyone is so hyperfocused on how the corps do things that they miss the fact that its a completely different beast entirely

I don't like collabs. Period. At best they're like yesterday's Poyocollab where they get shitfaced and horny, at worst it's the "two friends talking to each other while we're watching", at which point I could just as well tune in to Game Grumps. If you're not confident enough in your solo content that you resort to multiple collabs a week, you're NGMI.

Thanksgiving cooking stream. All the food prep gets shared but cut it to eat with family (or eat with the stream if you're home alone...)
>2) Have you found yourself getting tired of any content or streamers lately?
I'm extremely tired of most collabs now and I'm glad I didn't stream Inscryption any. It's a fun game but it's so tiring seeing everyone play it.
>3) It is coming upon /wvt/'s 1 year anniversary.... How do you feel? Are you celebrating? Are you mourning? Any good memories? Any regrets?
I only got here right around Christmas. I don't really think it's too special of an occasion. Worth celebrating, sure, but all the drama has been ephemeral and all the good times have been somewhat contained. I'm happy /wvt/ was here to help me make some friends, chuuba and viewer alike.

I mean, everyone, but I guess Corpse and Margo since they're both getting up near that 1000 milestone.
I don't know if it's a hot take here but it sure seems to be one on this board in general, but I hate idol culture and all the baggage it carries so it really fucking bothers me when I see chuubas or viewers going full idol LARP (in their attitude towards everything I mean, I'm not saying I hate karaokes or stuff like that) instead of treating this brand of autism like the "regular streamer using an anime avatar in place of a facecam" it really just is at the end of the day.

I know this place has a hardon for unity but honestly lone-wolfing it isn't that bad of a thing if you think you can manage it. Collabs are like any other part of vtubing, they should be fun not just work. If you do a collab just to "network" then don't fucking do that collab, this goes to any chuuba reading this.

This weekend is teaching me that's an important guideline to follow. Very easy to burn out with hosting workload or setup, unexpected issues, etc.
With one or two exceptions every collab I've been in, I was invited to, so I didn't have to do the hosting or the organizing or any of that.
If you still want the fun-with-friendly-people aspect of collabs, just tell the chuubas that ask you that they're hosting it, and prioritize your own schedule (and sleep) first. This lets you have fun without distracting from your own content or messing up your schedule with prep etc.
