Good morning /wvt/!

I spilled tea on my keyboard. The pain of being not awake enough to be able to hold a mug properly but needing to drink tea to become more awake.

I'm planning on doing a 12h stream this weekend - what makes a long stream like that worthwhile to you? Anything you like to watch in particular? I've never done one that long before so want to gauge people's interest in what kind of content they want to see~

Longer streams like that can be nice for something to have in the background all day or to come back to, but if I'm concentrating on them I'll probably jump to something else since they tend to drag on. Outside of celebrations, bat's endurance streams tend to be alright, but otherwise I'd say it's a case of whether I like the game/content just like any other stream.

An open letter to all /here/tubers: You will never be Senzawa. You don't have her humor, you don't have her wit, you don't have her talent. You are a two-bit vtuber twisted by internet memes and shitposting into a crude mockery of what should come naturally.

All the “lulz” you get are two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your use of outdated references behind closed doors.

Actual vtubers are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of days of practice have allowed your "coworkers" to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even /here/tubers who are funny will looked upon as unprofessional and autistic to a pro. Your speech structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a pro to collab with you, she’ll private the stream and block you from contacting, memory-holeing you, if it doesn't make enough revenue.

You will never be popular as Senzawa was. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll sell your XLR mic and your setup, log off of YouTube for the last time, private everything, and get a job in fast food or retail. Your will will be broken, heartbroken too, but you will be relieved that you no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. You’ll bury your old persona with a Twitter post for a headstone and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know that you tried and failed to stand where she stood. It's just tough to figure out what's a real filter for most folks versus what's simply not being someone's cup of tea. To be honest I was always more worried about my voice being hard to understand in general, since I've had that problem plenty off stream. So at least I am enunciating my words enough to be heard mostly clearly, which is one hump I was scared about not being able to clear

Fem*le but the design might filter some of the cheaper skeb artists. Some of the stuff I've gotten from artist friends are a little more traditional looking so I might try sending those in instead to see if that helps since I don't care about the end result being 1:1 to my current model.

In terms of how you view an endurance stream like that in fairness I probably feel the same way. Bat seriously knocks it out of the park with her endurance streams, huge credit to her.

Some artists will draw anything if you give them the money, I've seen sketches sent to skeb artists as references and got their requests fulfilled. Lots of vroid models get sent to skeb artists too, so don't worry about it in that regard. Also once you get one art, you can just use that as a reference to request other artists. But be warned that skeb is like a drug. You'll keep requesting.

If I can't do something else or let my mind wander because I can't listen to you with only one ear for one reason or another.

How much of your viewers' time do you spend? Do you segment your stream such that someone might leave earlier at a good stop-point or drop in at a later time? Alternatively some vtubers tweet when they switch gears.

Do you have a schedule with uniform starting times? Do you vary stream-length or even aim for a specific one? There's various choices here.

As for design I feel the same way about Alice, really hits all the right spots for me. especially the mask.

My life continues to spiral out of control, an absolute disaster since day one. I cant say I'm looking toward anything since the future is scary and being too hopeful means hurting more when I'm let down but it is what it is. The colder weather makes me th ink about going out into the middle of a snowy field and laying there where everything is quiet and crisp and peaceful, and just closing my eyes not to die but just so sleep forever. I think it is because they are trying to offset the animosity from the last few weeks. Because between both threads, they used to be pretty similar besides this place not having half the activity of the former, which naturally changed the culture. And the moment someone got an inkling of the other place, they would immediately go there and decrease the activity even further. So this place ends up getting associated as the place to go when the other is on fire, and people feel more of a need to be "good" here. It is very interesting to see, since I sort of figured this would just be more of a wvt 2 instead.

I also agree with the purpose sentiment. With you feel like you have no purpose, even streaming helps you feel more capable in yourself. Have a wonderful day, anon.

The lack of a good search function sucks but I enjoy perusing it anyway so I have a long list of regardless.
The front page has a feed for what other people you follow have commissioned previously which is a good start. Otherwise just check that top feed of recently completed works and look through the thumbnails for pieces that catch your eye and check the artist's prices. If you follow skeb artists on twitter, some of them will also retweet others regularly which I've found plenty through, though that's mostly in the 10k+ range.
Finally, you can directly check who others are following if you swap out their handle in the URL here, case sensitive. Have Lumi as an arbitrary example since she seems to enjoy looking for artists...

If it turns out shit, you just have to deal with it, but since it'll show on the artist's profile it's still in their interest to do well so they get more requests, and in general more established (and expensive) artists will be more consistent. Style-wise you could try giving a reference even if it's one of their own works.
Typically with a banner they deliver the work as as PSD or multiple images so you can remove it, sure there wasn't anything like that as an additional file there? Might also be worth turning off the "With or without addressee" option.

Also, clear your name field if you're not trying to namefag.

I had a tonne of fun yesterday between the watchalongs, bats birthday, and the vrchat hang out stream
this time last year I hadn't even realized vtubing was something I could do, I still spent nearly every day never speaking to another person and now I can't think of what it would be like without spending time with others on the regular, there have been things i've felt I thought I'd never feel again, and it's happened more often than any other period of my life.
I really do love everything this community is, there are some rough days sometimes but theres always people looking out for you and wanting to pull you up
it's just been such a valuable experience for everyone I feel, i've gotten to see many lives change for the better over the past year

I don't think my life could get much worse than it was around this time last year since my mom died around then and while it's been a long year I'd say it's been pretty good. I've lost enough weight that I need to go out and buy some new pants since my old ones don't fit anymore, for one thing. And for another I found a girl I love and that always motivates me to do my best. I've picked up some new hobbies, dropped some old ones that I never really enjoyed in the first place and learned to let go of a lot of my physical possessions since it feels needless living in a pile of junk that I only collect because I think I'll need it one day when I know I won't. I guess it's kinda cheesy to say but after decades of feeling like I'm just the same person every day this last year I really feel like I've changed, at least a bit.

Considering I was thinking about retiring just a month ago, this anniversary has been a bit of a shock! I’ve found myself speaking to a lot of chuubas I look up to and I feel like I’m getting some traction. Plus so many of my regulars have stuck with me through thick and thin and I’m so grateful for that! I’m looking forward to learning to balance my private life, my work and my vtubing. It’s difficult but I’m much more out of my shell now.

I enjoyed yesterday tremendously. Something I (and many others) worked hard on for weeks came to fruition yesterday and was very well received, so my heart's very full of good feelings. There were lots of fun streams yesterday and across the whole weekend, so it was a good anniversary.

My life has changed for the better since last year in a lot of ways, and I feel like it's only going to get better as I go into next year. I'm looking forward to seeing what kinds of fun and creative events chuubas will be running for the holiday season. I think we'll have lots of happy, comfy streams in the near future.

Unrelated, I love the cool, crisp air in autumn. I can't get enough of it, and resent that I need to be indoors for so much of the day. If I had my druthers I would spend nearly all the daylight hours in fall outdoors enjoying the foliage, walking and hiking.

I had a nice time in the threads during the anniversary and also ended up on three streams so i really felt the spirit of vtubing rushing through me
as for last year, I think my life has changed significantly for the better; this was around the time when I started getting into vtubers, watching them regularly, and frequenting /hlgg/. i found a tweet i had made on another account last year talking about how i was considering becoming a vtuber because i wanted to be able to stream without my face but still have some kind of identity which brings us to the present day!
as for the upcoming year, i have some things in the works that i'm excited to show off to everyone hehe

for my own experience with medication, I was basically forced onto them without a choice, all they ever did was make me feel dumber, the root problem comes from my analytical nature, all the positive effect they had was they got me through the first few months of a dead end job by basically making me pretend I was stupid and enjoyed it, from there I made real progress in my own happiness by fostering happiness in others I worked with through bravado and gained a sense of self worth through that leadership.
